@sxpersav17104 жыл бұрын
MadDoggGames It does tho it’s hella confusing cause if I know my characters frame data I have to learn other opponents who I fight which means you basically have to know the moves to most of the characters in the game to know which frames match up
@idk-gz9mu4 жыл бұрын
It all about practice, as long as you play this game, you'll be learning about every characters moves. As a beginner, you only need to know what is punishable or not, if the atack says -8 or less (-9/10 etc...) on the block adv., it is punishable, if it is -6 or more (-5/4 etc...) it isn't. When you get used to this, you wanna know what atack strings are plus, by plus, it means you can do a string, and then do another because it is still your turn to atack, and this becomes real handy as you progress in competitively. If the atack says 0 or more (1/2 etc...) it is plus, witch means if you time it right, you can do another string, and if your opponent falls for it, you get a full combo I'm just hoping you understood all this xd, just trying to simplify.

At first I thought some of these seemed obvious but as I kept watching I have to say this is actually one of the only really helpful beginner advice videos ive seen and sometimes we forget what it was like as a novice/beginner player and roll our eyes when someone recommends avoiding obvious mistakes and flaws and or working them out of your game through practice and you can get so used to having certain bad habits in your game that limit your skill and ability and become automatic and sometimes you need to be reminded of them and have someone point them out and they can be extremely hard to unlearn and sometimes you can't entirely get rid of the effect that certain bad habits have on your game and are just too deeply embedded in your reflexes that ultimately ends up making you slower than someone who practiced the right way because even if you make the same moves as them you have to spend the extra time thinking about it or always having to think ahead making you really vulnerable to fast and unpredictable opponents and if they start to poke holes in your game plan and do something you weren't prepared for and even falline half a second behind in high level competitive Mk11 can cost you your entire life bar in less than five seconds and in a game like mk11 with competition so sweaty that being one frame late one time can lose you an entire match you simply cannot afford to fall behind or be anything other than faster than your opponent

I recommend practicing a character you like a lot and getting the feel for how they play. A big part of fighting games is also knowing your opponents moves, which can only be learned by playing against AI or, even better, other people. It takes them and you deffinetly need patience for it. If you're having trouble don't be afraid to look up tutorials online. Also don't forget to play the in-game tutorials.

What drives me crazy about “pick a main and stick with it” is that the story mode actively punishes you for doing so. And of course we gravitate to the story when we first fire it up, so they start you off at a big disadvantage. I’m still trying to learn the meta of mk on a basic level, and I am 3/4ths of the way through the story. You barely get time to get used to a character and they switch it again.

What I find myself doing is not blocking this might go to being aggressive but that’s how I lose most of my match ups especially since I main jade

I'd have to disagree, except with learning combos. You definitely have to master combos in all certain ways. But you definitely can just focus on mastering combos in practice and beat anybody in random matches. The problem with people losing while trying to master their combos, is because they get to in a rush. The key is, is you gotta read your opponent, the key is defense. What does the opponent like to start off with on their first move? Or what they use the most?.. Overhead attack? Mid attack? Or Low attack? (Which most like to use this alot, as spammers). But for me, I like to bait my opponent, make them think I'm gonna make a move. To see what they do or how they start off. And I definitely use jump, but not excessively and I don't really lunge into the opponent for them to uppercut me, unless I know I have an opportunity to where they can't attack me. But like I said, if you can play good defense, then you definitely can pull off whatever combos you want on anybody. If you just read and pay attention to your opponent.

yeah but how do you practice defense I'm 2 weeks in and already I see that defense is going to be the hardest part for me as I'm already pulling of 2 bar combos with Noob Saibot

shit i never thought there would be a day where people took MK as a science , i mean when i was coming up we just smashed the buttons but now shit , but today they brought so much into the game to where if you are smashing the buttons its ineffective

ahah the good old days when stuff was simple aha xD Its unfortunate but winning has a science to it making much more stressful to learn the game

I have a lot of problems to avoid the next combo from my enemy, when I'm wake up and he knows exactly how to start the combo.

The best training and self measurement is to play a single tower in very hard difficulty, try to beat the game and measure yourself by trying to lose less, the more less you lose, the better. And when you are getting better, win the tower with no loss with all characters. If you get to this stage of playing, bring it online.

I'm 2 weeks in and playing Klassic Towers on Hard mode except I don't do the boss battles because Cetrion is annoying and I won't face such an opponent online..

I just wish I could see more improvement already. I've been playing for a month and I'm just not where I want to be. It'd be one thing if I was winning some matches, but I'm just getting wrecked and I'm starting to lose my patience

Remember oriental martial arts movies: Patience is the key. Use every loss to your advantage. Practice. Keep it cool and light-hearted. Only in peace comes greatness.
