Late to this video, been busy. But here's my insight as well. 1. Weather is very unpredictable! If you come to visit, plan for hot, cold, rainy, and dry. You could experience all in the same day! 2. Round system is very common and is usually set by the fastest drinker so you'll have to keep up! BUT you can always opt out if you'd like. Just let your mates know you don't want to be included in the rounds! You might get some stick, but everyone will be mostly understanding. 3. The Irish have 2 extremes and there's hardly an in between. You can find the most talkative person you'll ever meet, then the next guy will be very reserved... but be ready for when he actually says something, because these people usually have the wittiest things to say that will leave you chuckling for a while. Like said in the video, enjoy the banter... It means we like you! 4. I don't speak the language myself, since I moved away before I had the chance to learn it completely (will be moving back within a year though) But the Irish love hearing other people use Irish phrases! On top of that, it is a growing language. More and more people are learning it and trying to use it more and daily basis. 5. Not much to add here tbh 6. Almost everyone loves tea, so even if you don't drink it, it might be a good idea just to have some around for your guests. My mum drinks 7 cups a day. My grandparents even more than that... 7. Exactly what I was saying in point 3! Banter=we like you 8. Some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world.

Young amarican here. I feel a great deal of connection to nature and Ireland in particular and hope to move there a few years down the line and your videos really helped put what that would actually mean for me. Never once has it turned me down from the idea just helped me understand how much i do actually need to prepare

I'm really glad about that! Exactly what i want to show to people coming over here, less people coming on a whim and ending bad, more people preparing and being secured... These are just adjustments my friend!

Very lovely video, I will be relocating to Ireland next year with my family from France please which area are good for work, safely and cheaper to live in Dublin or cork, thanks

Cork is cheaper than Dublin, but both are two most expensive cities in Ireland so, try living a little outside the city centre, by this you can save a lot and should have to travel a bit to City Centre if you are working there (which is not an issue)
@TheCorkyFella

@Ke Mi exactly what @CHANDAN BG said, Cork is ultimately safer and cheaper, both of those have a lot of work opportunities (Dublin a bit more), but do your research on rent and traveling because living a bit outside of the city if you can manage that, can make a huge difference in choices of homes and your rent or even mortgage...

Hey! French fella here, thank you for sharing these tips! It's always good to know the little things that might help you evolve in a new place. Especially your input on dark humor, I wasn't aware of that :) I was wondering, I'm actually planning to move to Ireland durably but I don't drink alcohol, do you feel like it's possible to go in pubs, not drink alcohol and still make friends? Or should I look for other activities? Thanks!

Heya!! I'm so glad you liked it, I really try to pinpoint some of the stuff that shocked me personally, but didn't find any info on it earlier Oh it's possible don't worry, yes there's a lot of drinking but by being social enough you can go without the alcohol, and also if you are not into pubs, there are a lot of activities, events, social clubs etc. To meet people!

Bonjour French fella, I'm an Irish woman living with my French husband in the West of Ireland. There is no problem going to the pub and having a non alcoholic drink. However, be prepared to have people asking you if you are sick or on antibiotics or have promised God you'll never touch a drop of the hard stuff. Just laugh along with it or better yet, tell them you're a recovering alcoholic and watch their face fall. LOL.

Forgot the most important one,because unfortunately many get it wrong .Ireland is not in the UK except for a small area in the North called northern ireland.The Map of ireland you show is actually an aspirational map when or if the island becomes united into one republic,its not the actually present day map of the countries borders.

Love Ireland been lucky enough to work there over the years on and off why I’d never live there (even though I would love two) recently on a train heading to Manchester spoke to an Irish couple said I’d love to live in Ireland reply so you want to colonise us again my reply mate I know I’ve got a Lancashire accent I was born in Liverpool and I’m half Celtic mainly Irish. Adding to that i have only felt uncomfortable in the north Belfast & Coloraine even though I’m English bizarre isn’t it and sad.

It’s not English and the irish language .. its called Gaelic. The wether is predictable not unpredictable. Lol. The Irish humor is slowly being watered down as we now have more foreigners who congregate amongst themselves rather than mix in with the Irish culture. Let’s stop this.

It's called Gaeilge, or Irish. Nobody in Ireland calls it Gaelic. And foreigners are welcome here IMHO...
