A brief addendum regarding why Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy are not on this list: Both guys had already been multiple-time world champions by the time they went to TNA. Their stock didn't necessarily go up as a result of the move; in fact, you could argue their stock went DOWN during their time there, as their substance abuse issues went unchecked, and in Hardy's case, ended up in a very ugly public display.

So glad to see Christian Cage at number 1. He was on top when I first started watching TNA back in 2006 and although his first title run as a babyface was kind of meh, he really hit his stride and arguably became the top heel in the business during his second title reign. He truly got to shine in TNA and was definitely one of the highlights of some of their best years.

Same here. Since 2004 he really came into his own and I was getting so frustrated that we kept being teased with a main event push for him in WWE that never happened. He had wrestled in California as part of NWA Championship Wrestling From Hollywood as Shaun Ricker (I saw him out here a few times, including his last show before going to NXT). His only known NXT taping match was a dark match he lost to Yoshi Tatsu as "Slate Randall". He didn't do anything of note during the period he was signed and he's honestly been used much better than he ever would've been (imo) in Impact Wrestling.

I'd say Kurt Angle did better in TNA than the WWE, it gave him new opponents that he never wrestled before like AJ Styles, Sting and Samoa Joe (who are in the WWE right now). It also added longevity to his career, as he didn't have to wrestle as much as he did in the WWE because he kept breaking his neck and wasn't given any time to off to heal, which he was able to do in TNA.
@Celicagame13

jerel that’s not a reason why his run in TNA was better than WWE. In WWE he worked with Austin, Rock, HHH and so on! It doesn’t get any better than that.

Also as Brian mentioned in the pin comment. Kurt had a major substance abuse problem. Just from sheer pain. In wwe they had more checks for that. Whereas TNA didn't give a crap. They just cared about the dolla Dolla bills. Yes he had amazing matches and fueds with Samoa Joe, AJ styles, and so on. He also got super skinny and further declined in health and well being by pushing himself as far as he did. I hate that he's only a GM I'm just glad to say say "it's true it's true" he's back and good now.

I think that is rather debatable. His runs in both companies where great. But i think i would go more slightly towards WWE, because of his matches with guys like Chris Benoit, Brock Lesnar and Shawn Michaels. His match with Benoit at Rumble 03 is still one of the best matches in rumble history and his match with shawn is one of my top 10 WM matches.

He won every title imaginable, beat both the Rock & Steve Austin for world titles, beat the Undertaker clean, had the match of the decade with HBK, and main evented Wrestlemania. Regardless of how great his TNA run was it's still not as good as what he did in WWE.
@jerelminter

I agree with Angle's success from the WWE as that's where he started and the early part of his career as the American Hero who won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics character was so egotistical and self absorbed and at times goofy, which is what he's mostly remembered for. But I meant towards the end of his original WWE run was when most of the talent had left like The Rock, Stone Cold, Chris Jericho, Brock Lesnar and Eddie Guerrero passed away (he left the company when Chris Benoit was still alive so the murder suicide incident didn't happen until a year after Angle left). The roster towards the end of Angle's run was very thin, there wasn't a lot of main event guys to wrestle with by 2006, he already beat them. So the smart move was to wrestle somewhere else.

I think I read in Steve Austin's autobiography that he said that WWE completely missed the boat with Rhyno. Leave it to Vince to saddle someone with a goofy, cartoonish gimmick. I never saw what he did in TNA, but didn't he have the opportunity to sort of come out of his shell, especially on the mic? They still called him Rhyno, I think. But didn't he become "Rhyno, the War Machine", or something like that? Someone clarify for me. Also, what about Raven in WWE vs. TNA? Accompanying this video should be a "Wrestlers who did worse in WWE after LEAVING TNA". Ahem, the Alpha Male, Monty Brown. Thank God WWE knew what they had in AJ Styles. Winning two WWE Championships isn't bad, is it?

Oh how I missed these days. Started watching TNA back in 07, and it was really amazing back then. Compared to nowadays. Sure some aspects could be good now, but it's hard to keep faith when they keep going up and down and up and down. I think Tomoko should be on the honourable mentions. Did nothing in WWE, and in TNA he was part of a great team with Styles.

I really enjoy watching these videos. However there's one incredibly glaring omission from this list. Christopher Daniels was nothing more than enhancement talent in his time with WWE in the late 90's, signed a shirt term contract right as WCW went out of business and then went on to have some of the most memorable feuds and matches in TNA history, with AJ Styles (who also could be argued goes on this list for his initial stint as WWE jobber) and Samoa Joe, his tag teams with Kazarian and AJ, Triple X with Low Ki and Primetime Elix Skipper... In fact he's been involved in so much of TNA I'm amazed you didn't go for him, even as an honourable mention.

For this countdown I didn't count when a wrestler was a random unsigned jobber in WWE ... otherwise guys like Samoa Joe would be on the list as well. I was looking more at guys that were signed and/or got some kind of push. Hope that clears things up!

That is a great spot for Captain Charisma. Well earned. And the list looked good this week. It's amazing how where you see someone first can really sully your opinion of them, no matter how good their work becomes. For me, that person is R-Truth. Having seen him as K-Kwik, I never took him seriously during his run in TNA. And then of course, he returned to WWE only to fall back into schtick territory.

Ryan Attwood oh I understand. I was just stating my stance on the thought. I’m not a mma fighter nor a expert on it, my experiences and knowledge are far more professional wrestling orientated but I was saying that having such a successful mma career so far legitimizes bobby beyond being a good wrestler and makes him winning seem realistic and plausible. Only thing that could hinder the storyline would be the marks who don’t know about his mma background and refuse to look him up.

Here are some you might've missed: -Taryn Terrell: In WWE, she became the GM of the failing ECW brand and went on to wrestle matches on Smackdown. She was released due to altercation in Vegas with Drew McIntyre. In TNA, she became the referee for the knockout division and eventually became the longest reigning Knockout Champion in the company. -Konnan: After WWE as Max Moon, Konnan went on to companies such as WCW, AAA and eventually TNA. He became a tag champion and then managed a successful tag team turned stable LAX there. -Christopher Daniels: He may not have had a successful run in WWE but he is still technically an ex-WWE star. Being one half of Los Conquistadores with that wrestler Jésus, he was hired as the goon for Edge and Christian. He eventually wrestled for ROH and TNA where he collected a handful of titles on numerous occasions. -Devon: Like Bully Ray, Devon has been known as a tag specialist having collected tag gold in various companies (including WWE). He had that failed singles run as Reverend Devon. Truthfully the only thing good about that was Batista's debut. In TNA, aside from tag success, he became a singles star in his own right and went on to win the TV Championship. He also went on to join Aces and Rights as well. -Scott Steiner: Scotty's first run in WWE was on an occasional basis teaming with his brother Rick and despite not being WWE tag champs, the two have become a very decorated tag team. In Scotty's second run with the company, he came close to winning the top belt on Raw because I refuse to call it the World Heavyweight Championship due to how poorly the belt has been treated by WWE over the years. Scotty also went on to wrestle in WCW and became a very successful wrestler in TNA. There he became a tag champ and became a member of a number of successful stables, namely Main Event Mafia and Immortal.
