Christian was great in TNA. I enjoyed his work in the company and his faction. The only thing I didnt like was them making Aj supposedly dumb. TNA did have what it took to be an alternative but the powers that be didnt wanna be an alternative to WWE. They wanted to be the WWE. There was so much young amazing talent in TNA. My recollection is that Shark Boy's Stone Cold schtick originated as him doing the voice in the back to make the boys laugh, and it got so over backstage that it was suggested that he should incorporate it into his character, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I was at this show. The crowd was red hot the entire night. The atmosphere was not unlike an NXT Takeover show is in recent times. In the couple years leading up to this show Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles had been tearing shit up in the X-Division and the Samoa Joe/Angle feud was money. For a small window of time, it really seemed like TNA was on the brink of becoming something special. On a side note, you missed something a funny moment in the Lethal Lockdown match. There's actually a point in the match after the weapons come down where for a brief moment Sting forgets that Matt Morgan is on his team and starts attacking him with a trash can. A few seconds later you can see them in the corner of the screen talking it out. Funny stuff.

Can't compare Batista to Morgan as Batista is better in every area. Morgan was always just a mediocre big man. Like say if Batista was a part timer right now he would easily be one of the biggest draws in all of WWE. I would even put him right up there with Lesnar due to all the success Batista has had as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy. I mean Batista himself has said he wants to have one last run in the WWE and feud with HHH. Yet for some dumb reason Vince and HHH keep telling him nah not right now. Like WTF Batista even without his success in Guardians is a huge draw but now with all his acting Success would be just as big of a name as Lesnar.

It was only about 6 months after this PPV that TNA started doing a big feud between the Main Event Mafia (ex WWE & WCW guys) and the Front Line (mostly TNA originals). Which could have been a cool way to really put over their younger, home-grown talent, except that the MEM basically never lost, Samoa Joe turned heel in a swerve-for-the-sake-of-a-swerve and then the whole angle just kinda petered out into nothingness without any real resolution. Dam this really was the glory days of TNA I remember watching impact almost religiously every week same as I did raw and smackdown back then I'd been watching it since about 04 or 05 and I'll admit I was a TNA die hard they had some really great talent and put some dam good matches they just couldn't seem to get over the hump and really break out but I'd say from about 07-09 I thought they really had the potential to become seriously successful and really be competition for wwe unfortunately it's been all downhill since then it really is a shame to see what's become of them smh I miss this era of TNA actually being good

Lalos Rizo 👉 Very well said...I couldn't agree more. I think TNA was basically all uphill until about the end of 2010. Then it started spiraling downward pretty quickly and I mainly blame the addition of Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan on the creative side.

Gray they redid too many wcw spots. inluding the bad finish. even 4tune wasn't that bad with joe claiming it was all a fraud and that they will keep the company for themselves. and instead of a slow build up with all member capturing gold and acing their competition until a big fatal four way at bound for glory . we had well nothing, that promo went nowhere. same regarding 4tune feuds with immortals (the lamest stable tna ever had, even world elite was better). how can anyone screw with a roster like this one.

I remember that new age outlaw feud. Road dogg won a money in the bank style briefcase for the tag team titles and instead of cashing it in with billy gunn he cashed it in with his father bob. Billy screwed them out of the tag titles for feeling betrayed

I love the fact that Brian Zane was able to do like a one minute joke on Black Reign and was still able to convince Cody Rhodes to do a promo for his channel within the same year. Thanksgiving must have been so awkward that year.

Man, the X Division Championship had an awesome design back then, though the current design is pretty good too. Speaking of the X Division, So Cal Val was also helping Jay Lethal out in the X Division Xscape Match. Roxxi Laveux and Awesome Kong actually had a pretty good match on TV for the Knockouts Championship. Roxxi came pretty close to winning. Plus, she was a badass, anti-Diva, like Molly Holly. Hell, Roxxi even got her head shaved later that year.

the way i look at it is that if you take a chair shot to the head it shows how tough you are, but if you put your hands up it takes away from the spot. The chair is no longer a weapon if you block it.
