Just when I was so impressed with Bette’s rap skills, Marlene comes along and blows my mind with her uncanny ability to fluctuate between female and male voices. Unbelievable!! 😮 Not that the other contestants were slouches, mind you, it’s just that those two necessarily stood out to me. Wow! Appreciate you, my friend. 💕😘

The Broken Wings singer was my favourite. He has a lovely tone to his voice.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to this week's edition of "What are these red buttons for?" Benedita Calisto deserved a chair turn, if not more than one. I was sure that the performance of "Broken Wings" was going to be my favorite, until Marlene Bellissimo appeared and blew my mind with her collection of voices. Amazing. Very good collection of performances.

A fine and varied nine, making it hard to give all deserving of mention proper credit. More or less in order, Sydney Sterlace with a vulnerable tone....Bette Reynolds with a rapping "senior moment" which was quite amazing...Benedita Calisto with the reprise paired with Ninho was so emotional and strong...another real surprise was Marlene Bellissimo with her "dual voicing" (wonder if she is a contralto at heart) singing an Ozzie Nelson (!) number "Dream a Little Dream of Me"...her lower voice was nicely resonant and quite deserving of her turned chairs. Also, a favorit of mine would be Colin Doljescu who seems a ballad singer with a subtle vibrato to match a rich full sound. Thanks for these interesting and talented performers pureemotionmusic!

Aaannd . . . we're off! I'm still in listen-only mode (I don't watch till Loop kicks in) and, thus far, am delighted by what I'm hearing. _I'll finish this comment in a half-hour or so._ Aaannd . . . I'm back! The shock from seeing the forever-young Bette Reynolds won't soon be forgotten, nor could I have guessed that all those warmly embracing tones came from the single throat of the truly inimitable Marlene Bellissimo. _Bravo, bravo!_ I singled out René Schlothauer's delivery of "Broken Wings" and young Colin Doljescu's "Amar pelos Dois" for special mention, too --- then added the lovely Ralitsa Haiderska for her beauteous vibrato. Across the board, I rate *2024* as a wonderfully robust year for "The Voice." Thank you, Pure. Well done!

Interesting how much the world Loves American music.

Never ceaces to amaze me too. I could say we Americans know for too little of some (or much) music from so many other places. But I'll never forget the day America was attacked and overrun by the Beatles--know what I mean?

I can think of a number of reasons, beginning with the fact that English is the most widely understood language of any. That said, it forever flabbergasts me that Mongolia's Enke Erdene, whose musical career I've followed for years, speaks virtually no English at all! 👀

Pure, I agree with the "no chair" turn inclusion. She'll be back. I just love it when the coaches get up on stage to reinforce that it's not personal if they don't turn their chair, and I don't fault the coaches when they don't turn. Sometimes it's just how it feels in your gut, right?

Thanks to who ever recommended: 12:03 Marlene Bellissimo - "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" (Ozzie Nelson)(The Voice of Germany 2024) Say whatever you want, but she/he is definately entertaining.

So, when you are young and in love remember what one of my girl friends once told me when I couln't figure out where I wanted to take her. She said, "why not just try to take me somewhere I have never been before". Well except for Germany (and US) I have never been there before--therefore a very exciting video for sure.

@@mikeschin7969 This comment sent me down an interesting path, as I took it as a metaphorical set of places...which the emotions of the songs brings us to. And then that led to remembering all the artists who we closely followed at different times...so thanks for this wander...

@@mikeschin7969 Thank you, Benedita Calisto sang a hit by the singer Roberto Carlos. A romantic ballad that I really liked. Just like Bárbara Tinoco, who knows? Watch this "The journey of Bárbara Tinoco": kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYbLhZebq6tmq8U As you rightly pointed out, Marlene Bellissimo is a trans person, hence her wide vocal range 🥰
