It reminds us that not even the most peaceful place in the world is safe from tragedy. We defeated Red's reploid armada, but at what cost? The "mavericks" are now buried in a graveyard, treated as soldiers who died in a war and are being honoured for their efforts. For the first time in Mega Man history, it really makes you feel bad for killing the main stage bosses. If I put myself in X's shoes in this situation, I would feel remorseful. Anteator was right, I would think. I couldn't be an "ambassador of peace" by avoiding bloodshed. I was a hypocrite to fight when I instead wanted the fighting to stop. Even though Mega Man X7 is heinous for being the trashfire it is, this graveyard overwhelms us with emotion and makes us forget about the game's abysmal design. It makes us take a moment to think about the scene and what it means.

You didn't mention one thing about Ragnarok Core. Around 1:35 it starts getting more hopeful, and it stays like that until it loops, when the shrill from the start suddenly interrupts, as if the hope was suddenly silenced. It's pretty creepy if you ask me.

I would vote for Dust Man(for the depressing theme going for the music and the stage overall) and Last ~The Will Punished(Elpizo is very creepy. His looks and voice get overshadowed by the bright colors in the arena, though, which reduces the creepy factor. He is also so underwhelmingly easy it hurts). Edit: Spoilers I like most of the picks, but Infiltration for #1 is kinda meh. Yes, you have lots of mystery and tension in the beggining of the 2nd Factory mission, where everything is calm and silent, and also in the Stop the Hacking mission, where you go inside the cave and find out there's much more to the place than initially thought... But besides those 2 quick moments, both stages are quite energetic and have you trying to speed up for various reasons. Not really good places to be feeling fear... It's not like someone is chasing you or something.

Dark Mantis' theme is very creepy as well. When I listened to it as a kid the first time I actually felt quite scared. And it helped that I listened to it before looking at the actual stage, which only added to the mystery.

The problem with most battle themes is that they are either too upbeat and energetic or the place you're battling itself is welcoming/too colorful. X4's Sigma battles are a good exception-- for Mega Man standards, that is.

Bonus: mega man revolution's final stage is very scary! You fall into the deep cave like in MM2, but... bottom of cave is full of monsters (mutants)! It's just pretty. The vocals create an emphasis on the melancholic or straight out sad tone of the factory, so I don't see it being considered a "creepy" theme. Black Burn may be even sadder, but it's a better contender just on how tragic it is. I feel Battle Network. Starforce and Legends have a lot of darker themes as well. Le Mu from Starforce 2. It feels alien. With the hum in the atmospheric music track. The AF areas also to my recollection had disturbing tunes. Tho i can't remember them as thoroughly. The Undernet theme from 2 through 4 all stand out from Battle Network. But there are loads of other ones that feel ominous. And tho my memory of Legends is rough. The first game to my recollection had a jaringly creepy tune. Good list. Just wanted to share some of my personal favorite creepy tracks. Heck. For X8 I'd even include Lumine Phase one. His second theme is more well known sure. But his first really sets the mood for a battle with the Fallen Angel of Reploids.

@@Crobert24 Dust Man's theme has that depressing feel of being in a graveyard, full of destroyed robots for one reason or another. It's very unsettleing in my eyes (or ears for that matter). Sigma 2nd is very intimidating and creepy (aspecially with the piano slamming). Sigma 1st from MMX4 is also unsetteling a bit, but not as much as second phase (or technicaly 3rd phase, because Reaper Sigma has two phases, and Earth Sigma and Sigma Gunner are 3rd). MMM MegaMan zero series gave us a more realistic view on the series in total.. I still think dark elf's theme and Crea and Preas theme spooks me more

Suprised that Guarder Room (MMZ1), Double's Betrayal and X4 Sigma 1st theme ain't here. Also, I don't find X6 Sigma 1st theme to be scary, more intimidating to say the least.

Really like this list...except for the part that you ignored the megaman legends 1st and 2nd dungeon themes. Those are at par with infiltration in both music and setting

The problem with that is that i didn't play the legends games
