I think that dropping heavy things on a concrete workshop floor is just about the 3rd top way to make sound. I hope this is helpful.

I was just watching some talks by Chris Butcher (Bungie programmer). He said that sometimes programmers have a tendency to overly generalize and it can (sometimes) be a trap due to abstraction mismatch. Seeing that Sand Version 9 is using GRAVITONS made me giggle.

Ohhh interesting! Do you have a link to that? And yeah, it's sometimes not a good idea to take things too far... but it can be quite fun :)
@andrewallbright2 жыл бұрын
@@TodePond I can't link things in comments. I also forget which talk it was, since I was marathoning the talks. It's either in the Destiny: Six Years in the Making or HandmadeCon 2016 Asset Systems and Scalability. Both are great conversations! > And yeah, it's sometimes not a good idea to take things too far... but it can be quite fun :) I think your channel is a testament to this sentiment. Lol :D

gravitons, a particle responsible for particle behaviour? That is genius! EPIC

I love the idea of the final one! Creating your laws of physics on a higher, more universally relevant scope 😁 there's a joke somewhere there about No-Man's Sky.....

Brilliant! The graviton reminds me of the Moveable Feast Machine's Demon Sort particle. Was that an inspiration?
@TodePond2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks, and yes! It's one of the biggest inspirations for my channel (it pops up in quite a few of my videos). And the graviton is very inspired by the demon horde sort :)

I just had a nice idea for the water: instead of moving water up, sand compresses water. compressed water spreads its compression around and fills empty space. so like D=double compressed W=normal C=compressed DW => CC C_ => WW etc and then for sand S => _ W S W C

I started this project before I found out about Sandspiel, but since then I've been really inspired by it in lots of different ways. For example, I really liked how the stone element worked and tried to make something similar
