I honestly think Aang was stronger than Korra. He was just as powerful as her at age 12, and we never got to see what he grew into. Obviously he never learned metalbending, but he picked up every element instantly, mastered, MASTERED airbending at age 12, and took on the greatest firebender ever to live during the day when the comet arrived, and held his own for a long time, while injured. The avatar state only bailed him out when his injury became an issue. All of this at 12-13 years old. Even if he wasn't more powerful than Korra at age 13, he definitely was 3 years later.

Aang base >> korra base Aang (avatar state) < Korra (season 2 avatar state). Avatar Roku explained every avatar surpasses the previous one's AS. The AS is their strongest weapon and gives the avatar access to all experiences of his predecessor combined, which means aang has access to roku, kyoshi etc. While korra has access to roku, kyoshi etc. AND AANG

@@sixg True and the slate has been wiped clean thanks to Vatuu so that earlier statement does check out but only after season 2. Korra is still one heck of an Avatar.

Korra was far stronger than aang by season 2,aang had mastered air bending but the other 3 no,as stated by toph and katara,korra by BoS mastered all bendings except air.Korra is far ahead of aang but due to,idk,series progression she couldnt basically one shot everyone,and as she had already mastered avatar state by EoS01,korra was basically nerfed all series,even when she was not poisoned. Worst,korra by S02 achieved the spirit cosmic form,which put her faaaaaaaaar above any other avatar,since no avatar could beat unavaatu Love both series

You know it says something about Iroh’s skills when he is the only ‘normal’ bender to make it as high as he did. Although way below Iroh and highly skilled no bender Tokuga became a much more series threat when he partially merged with the Dragon eel spirit. A more common spirit yet it boosted his skills greatly. Yun was already an earthbending master and eating Father Glowworm, a very powerful spirit increased his skills to the point that comparably he was probably a quarter of Avatar state with his skill in earthbending alone. Hundun and his brother were also skilled earth benders, yet their master of the darker aspects of chi and thousands of years of experience made them a considerable threat. The rest are spirits comparable to the Avatar in power, a giant weapon with enough power to punch through reality, a spirit using the Avatar as a conduit, the spirits responsible for the Avatar and her counterpart, a skilled water bender turned second Avatar through binding with Vatuu, and the Avatars themselves. Yet Iroh managed to reach to close to their ballpark while with Sozin’s comet yet while still mortal and without the neeed of some spirit interference.
