In UK for 5 years saw his last podcast, he is spot on about UK. But in Pakistan it is pretty much impossible to do business within for someone who is honest. Bribery, no one trustworthy, thugs everywhere, instability, people with no purchasing power, inflation. Unless you have an export business you can't survive in Pakistan.

In every country there is a market culture and system and to run a business you need to adopt it... I know issues are there in Pakistan, but very recently people have started I.t and e-commerce business which are becoming big and viable the developing industry like is easy to penetrate... And as per you saying rule regulations kam hony ki waja se thori leverage bhi milti, Compare to UK, very difficult to penetrate in any business layers and indepth competition which is lethal, then difference of culture and system, lastly uk is highly taxed and very strict in rules, which doesn't even make sense. For eg: if 2 people fight in a pub, police take action against pub for running a fight club, 😆 In case of robbery by a UK slum gang, police will say they will come out in 6 months and get physically personal with you, so they say take your complain back and let them do what the hell they want. 😂

This whole podcast is only for the students who are trying to come to uk. But in UK there are millions of people with different categories who are coming are settling with no problem. I live in the uk for last 15 years and I am well settled and happy. Mr sakib should understand that being born in the uk, raised he already seen everything, but a person born in Pakistan will still have the urge to see western countries regardless of the sacrifices he or she will have to make it. So please this whole podcast is throwing a negative influence to those people who wants to challenge themselves and to explore the world. Carry on exploring the world and do what your gut says and don't look up to anybody. If you are positive then life will be good.

Many British Pakistanis are moving to Pakistan. I myself am hoping to move in the near future if the finances work. We all have our own reasons. The UK is not what it was 20 years ago. It is going downhill fast and I am referring to the education and health system while wages stay the same and costs increase. It's a wake up call.

Thank you for this podcast. A much needed discussion. I`m born i Norway, my gradfather came to Norway in 1971. Last time I was in Pakistan, I met a guy at a coffe shop in Islamabad who said that he didn`t understand why so many pakistani youth were so eager to go abroad. He said that in Pakistan he have a comfortable life, he beeing a middle class man, working in an office had a far better life in Pakistan rather than going to europe, working day and night without leisure time, and maybe save up some money. I hope you guys can make a podcast about how the life is for us who are born and raised in western countries, where we are neither eurpeans nor pakistanis. Again thank you for great podcasts.

I also wanted to share about my experience living here in the US. I live in the Bay Area/Silicon Valley and have to say that we have a very vibrant muslim community with mosques with proper activities and fests not neccesarily in the most islamic way but atleast there is an effort. Infact we even have an Islamic College here in Berkely. Most of the muslims that i have come across are well off so if a student decides to come here to study and has a proper plan I would highly recommend given that you understand the trade offs as he mentioned in the video.

The point that he mentioned about people being afraid of the loss is exactly what i've been through. In the bpo industry people don't learn they just open up a center and when they loose anyone/anything they get angry and forget about it. I've been in this industry for 15 years now and all i know is no business absolutely falls or stays high, there are times when you're in a bad position so you brainstorm your way through. Just like in any other business you never stay on top forvever it's a myth of staying on top,to learn something new you'll have to bleed in the field of practice.

I fully agree with the lgbt motive. I belong to a strict religious family. Aalima as well. And i know how imp it is to discuss these sexual introductions with kids . Our most shariya is around the basic needs of a person, male or female.. every thing is clear. I myself give my kids a real intro of all these realities of world..as soon as they know. They become more aware and more mature..but unfortunately in our Pakistani society parents hardly talk about these issues with kids .. if parents tell kids earlier, no one can misguide them later..

The whole conversation is useless since every place comes with its own issues. I think the place you decide to live definitely has to depend on your goals. Whether you live abroad or in Pakistan, you have to factor in the downsides you will face. You’ll have to educate and train your children respectively. The west has a lot to offer for Muslims who are competent enough and are willing to compete globally in order to spread Islam. So it totally depends on what objectives you have.

Assalaolaikum. Thank you for reading and responding to my comment. I appreciate it very much. Saqib bhai, I'm sorry but I don't buy your argument because none of us know the future. Rarely anyone maps out their future and enacts on it and it turns out exactly as they planned it. We all take a leap of faith. We hold tawaqul and make strides. Exactly as you did. It's hard for me to understand why you're now telling everyone, don't do what I did which apparently worked out well for you by your own analysis. When I said you seem to be confused about whats wrong in western societies... I was keeping husn-e-zun (giving benefit of the doubt) to you ke you're not simply trying to deny the same opportunity to others which you availed for yourself. I felt like you were unhappy with things and didn't quite have awareness of what makes you unhappy. Btw, I'm a libertarian, I don;t equate money with happiness. To me, freedom is more valuable than anything else. I feel like you touched upon the truth a little bit. The lack of freedom.. which you call "experiences" which immigrants in UK tend to miss out on. There's a similar phenomenon present in America too. The immigrant tends to be scared and worried and there's a lot to lose. The stakes are high. There's very little margin for error. A lot is riding on him, ie his entire family etc. As I said before, maybe I'm making wrong assumptions about UK based on my American experience only. In America, you can certainly grow so long as you are willing to indulge in interest leveraged businesses. It's almost guaranteed. And that's my point. In America, you are given only 1 choice in stark contrast to all the freedoms US loves to boast about..... and that choice is, are you willing to take a loan and pay it back over a long time with interest? If yes, then you're golden. You'll have money IN THE BANK. but most of our people will never enjoy it. They'll never cash it out. Never return to Pakistan with all the money and it'll all go back to the Angreez through taxation or consumerism. Their wives and children won't let them and this is by design. Try being politically incorrect (don't actually do it!!!) . You'll be shocked how quickly all your money becomes the state's money. This is a severe lack of freedom. This thing you talk about where expats tend to freeze a snapshot in time of Pakistan and imagine Pakistan like that forever........ it's not that Pakistan is moving on in a positive way. It's just that Pakistan is changing (for good or bad) at a more rapid pace than UK and America and this is due to the freedoms still present in Pakistan. Our youth in Pakistan, are brave and free thinkers and have the time and opportunity to think critically and analyze while everyone in America and probably UK too, are too busy paying bills, and the 30 year mortgage they've taken on. They're not afforded the opportunity. Not just immigrants. All of us, goray and desi alike. These western countries purposely remain at a slower pace compared with more free countries like Pakistan. How long that lasts, Allah knows. I hope for a good while more. ---- Thank you, Amanullah bhai for hi-lighting my comment. I think this is a great idea. Reading and commenting on people's comments.

define failure. any immigrant coming to uk without high demand skills will just be a hamster on the wheel. if thats what you want then its fine. make 2000 a month spend 2000 a month. if you think you will be rich with basic style business ideas, off license stores and taxi business. then you are in for a tough road. think wisely. immigrants with high demand skills can have a good life but no skills just basic job, for most people i know in that situation they are hand to mouth. if you have a hand to mouth situation in pakistan then its quite pointless, if you fully broke in pakistan then moving isnt a bad idea. multiple factors have to be taken into account.

I was in UK a month ago been there for 1.5 years and I can confirm every word this person said is revelation because I saw people suffering degrees specially MS is a joke even after completing nobody willing to give the job and if they provide the opportunity the terms in offer letter is so absured no one will work on thoes condition in Pakistan tbh. Degrees are worthless there and study is Pathetic. Editing for rain thing found it funny we had same conversation there as well I though it was only us rain is depressing indeed. 🤣

My Opinion on why people want to move abroad: People don't just need money, they need peace of mind, a good environment, hope in the system, meritocracy, and most importantly stability and security for themselves and their families. Even If you have money, but not anything else, people won't stay there. You can easily earn money here like real estate and political corruption and many more but is it safe to live here? Is the system ready to improve and provide people with their needs? I'll give you 2 examples: 1) There is no political and economic stability in Pakistan. A graduate works hard, earns hard, invests somewhere, only to lose all his real worth every 3 to 5 years due to economic downturn and political uncertainty. Why would people want to live in a place where they work hard only to lose everything because the system is not ready to provide stability? Why wouldn't he go to a country where there is really more stability and he can really improve his class at the end after few years? 2) People want their lives, wealth and property must be protected by system and system must ensure safety of their own citizens. Why would I want to live in a society where every time I step out of the house I have to face two crazy people on a motorcycle trying to rob me? Where I am killed for my faith, where my property is burnt in protest, where I do not get justice in the courts? People need security, stability and justice. You give them that, they'll love being here. Being away from your loved ones is never easy!

I agree with him to some extent and he mentioned sahil adeem so sahil also says we have a confused generation. Your practical experience makes you a professional in your field of work any field that you're in,as it's not necessary to stay in your field of work you might be good at something else. I don't think saqib knows about lgbtq,it starts from how you feel which links to your interpretation. If i was on a podcast with saqib he'd agree with me as the digital-marketing sector is based on ABC (always be a closer).

2nd passport is mandatory for every pakistani after this 2024 electoral circus. you must go out see the world explore opportunities ,culture and then come back pakistan and serve. because these military and civil bureaucracy & politicians has no concern with common people of pakistan they jeopardise the country infrastructure since 75 years . they just give lollypops after 2-3 years. so take other side of coin and encourage people to move abroad get high education , explore opportunities and then come back to pakistan >>

Say nothing, hear nothing. I can see too many people in comments are agreeing with podcast not saying he is wrong about recent change in west and economic challenges. But if you have stayed in Pakistan and consistently applied jobs and invest in business and nothing worked in the end then you go for oversees option. I’m agree with the podcast upto some extent but not completely. Similarly, viewers should not just decide straight away from whatever he is putting in front. Do whatever works for you then give back to your origin country. Simple.
