Wow, how did each of your auditions go? What did they expect you to do?

@@l8diva it went terribly, I didn’t get any of the roles, I was extremely nervous and it affected my performance. If I decide to pursue acting again, I’ll probably go to acting school first.

+Adi Globus I really hope you'll read this article: www.holdonlog.com/articles/can-your-feelings-get-in-the-way-of-your-performing-business It pretty much sums up my feeling on this matter. But then of course, I'm sure there's more I could expand on. Long story short. It's all a BUSINESS. It's a business for your agents, managers, the producers, the studio, etc. I'm sure your agents who work their butts off getting you auditions don't think of this as a hobby. Having a plan for your auditions is essential. I never stress about my auditions b/c I have a plan. I'll share one more link with you exactly on this that I am actually the co-host of www.AuditionGamePlan.com. It's extensive, real-world, roll up your sleeves sort of thing. If you don't do this, you may end up auditioning forever instead of direct booking. That's the career I want! :)

+Adi Globus Well I'm not sure you read the article or watched the video. I hope you will. So, we'll have to 'agree to disagree'. I certainly have not been dedicated to my career since my early 20's, produced commercials, live events and shows, taken classes, paid for union membership, moved to Florida, NYC and Los Angeles, paid for marketing materials, plus all the TIME invested in my career-- all just for the art. If I did I wouldn't be able to afford my car, my bills, my lifestyle, etc. I wish you the best and hope you'll take heed to my advice. I wish you all the best in living off your art and certainly hope your agents aren't reading this b/c believe me they aren't in this for the ART, they are in this for 'The Business" aka Show Business and Show Business pays for their office, their kids to go to college and a bizillion other things. Money and Success are not bad things Adi. Don't ever hate the money it's how the Industry survives.

I have been informed I have an audition in five hours and I have no monologue AT ALL prepared. I have no way to memorize one in 5 hours. They told me they can give me something else to do, but it won't be improv. I have been searching but I can't find anything. @@l8diva They asked me to read some lines. They also asked me to pretend I was opening 3 doors and behind each door there was your 1) biggest fear, 2) your saddest memory and 3) your happiest memory. Ah, I even had to act as my fave animal.

I just saw that there is an audition around my area so I'm deciding to apply. But they didn't give out any scrip yet, so I'll just have to keep you updated. Also I'm really not expecting to get casted, I mostly just wanna see with my own eyes how is it like to audition (for something I'm writing), but if i do get casted that's a bonus. Hi. I would say experience is the most important thing. As much stage and screen as you can to go on your resume/CV, then you can be more appealing to a casting director.

Depends if its crucial to the context of the scene but in general just keep on playing the scene, if it will bother them they will tell you to do it again.
