Alton Brown-esque. Didn't realize Austin had such a big food scene! Can't wait to visit and visit all the same spots, especially home slice pizza! Everything is definitely bigger in Texas!

Amy's is classic and Mexican Vanilla is definitely their signature flavor. A lot of their ice creams with alcohol (like Guinness or Shiner Bock) are good because the alcohol makes the ice cream softer. As a native Austinite, I'd recommend you try check out the North side of town. For ice cream, I'd recommend Lick Honest Ice Creams and Steel City Pops. Food - Salty Sow and Ramen Tatsu-ya. You were drinking Austin Beerworks beer and that is a great brewery in town. Check out Rock Rose in the Domain. Breakfast tacos are a staple in Texas - lots of people like Torchy's. For BBQ, Franklin's is ok, but so much hype. Try La Barbecue or if you have time, go about an hour out of town to Lockhart, the BBQ capital of Texas and try the 4 places there. Hope you get to come back again!
