I am surprised the Focal Aria Evo X line of speakers didn't get a mention. This makes me wonder if there was much difference between the older Aria, the Aria K2 (which I got from Peter Tyson last year), and the Evo X? As for obvious products, the Wiim Ultra, was probably the obvious streamer, but I thought the Bluesound Node nano, was an interesting cheap alternative (though I am not the biggest fan of the app). As for gear. The only item I bought from Peter Tyson this year, was the Arcam CDS50CD player/steamer. Which has been both extremely enjoyable and also rather frustrating due to the Arcam Music Life app (I would suggest anyone use the Mconnect app instead) and its lack of gapless play. It is a great CD player for the price and when the streamer works, it does a good job.

Sounds like you need to listen to some EPOS speakers

Peter Tyson doesn't stock EPOS at the moment unfortunately, but I'd love to. - John.

As soon as you mentioned lp12 I stopped listening any further. Guys this is 2025 not 1975.

I personally would choose streaming over vinyl any day but I've tried to include all different aspects of hi-fi. Loads of people love listening to records and I think the LP12 is still very relevant. But like I say at the end of the video, it's just my opinion. - John

@Peter-Tyson the problem isn't vinyl the problem is the lp12. price is now astronomical for what is now a very behind the pace sound. very cynical marketing by linn.

Linn LP12 has always been overpriced and overrated

I get to use lots of turntables and always had a nice experience with the LP12. I also kind of like how it aggressively divides people, love or loathe it I don't think it will be going anywhere anytime soon. It's all part of the fun of hifi and one of the many reasons I prefer digital music 🙂 - thanks for keeping the discussion respectful - John.
