I'm ok with social commentary and whatnot, I'm not saying it should be just about shootouts and money, but it's about "how", and it just feels like very lazy writing so far

Absolutely. I couldn’t agree more. Barry Keoghan is one of the best Irish actors around right now. He was superb in Banshees of Inisherin. And he couldn’t have played a more different character in that. Plus the man who plays Tadg is Brendan Gleeson’s son, Brian Gleeson. He actually played Jimmy McCavern in Peaky Blinders and Jimmy Mahon in Rebellion. I wish they had of made this season a couple of episodes longer. There were so many plot lines that weren’t fleshed out enough. I also felt like some of the characters this season made stupid decisions that they would never have made in previous seasons.

@@giants2k8well, i'm not a native English speakers, so such subtleties are lost on me. but i imagine the Scottish accent must be one of the toughest for an (English-speaking) actor, because it's so distinct - it takes more than just fine-tuning or mangling your own (?). being Polish i've got an ear for fake Slavic accents, and eg. Russian accents in the cinema are often unbearable : ) i was once bored enough to browse KZbin for "how to do a Polish accent" (my first language) videos, which was fun in the sense that the majority of self-proclaimed "accent experts" managed to provide a fairly accurate rendering... of the Russian accent : ) go figure

Compare how Jonny accepted having a gun put in his face compared to Si. And he knew that he was going to die too. There are just people who are built for that lifestyle and others who aren’t. Or Sully ducking bullets like he’s Neo and then shrugging off a shot hitting him right at the lower left side of stomach. Realistically that bullet would’ve slipped and opened his hip region wide open even with Kevlar on. Or if it didn’t slip off, it’d have left him winded for a while.

This season, the pair of them were out of control. Dushane was a nasty piece of work who cared about absolutely nobody but himself. Sully seemed to be more empathetic towards others before this season. Yet when Jaqs robbed him even though it wasn’t for financial gain and it was to keep drugs off the street, he ruthlessly killed Kieran and told her she would be next. To go into an old people’s home and shoot it up along with killing an old man’s son right in front of him, was beyond low for Sully. Should have been smarter and lured them somewhere else. I think most of the audience lost sympathy for the pair of them by the end. Reminds me of the story of what happened to The Essex Boys, they got out of control and both had to go. Didn’t see Sully being the one to kill Dushane but I did see Dushane robbing or killing Sully as that’s the type of character he is. When Sully told Jaqs who was grieving for her sister that she wasn’t getting a pass, I lost sympathy for him in the end as well. Oh and I believe it was Jaqs who killed Sully in the end.

The three who knew Sully would be there are obviously Stef who could have changed his mind about killing him, Jaqs who finally saw Sully and Dushane for what they really were or an Irish hitman as they did their homework on Sully’s daughter’s school. I’m still saying it was Jaqs to rid herself of that life before her and her girlfriend left London with their nephew to start a new life.

As his girlfriend said before she split with him, he has no empathy, no morals and only thinks about himself and money. When he shot that kid, I was happy to see Sully kill him. Yet it was so predictable that Sully would be killed himself. I thought the Irish would have put a car bomb on his car and he was going to explode once he started the engine. Didn’t see the gunshot to the head coming like that. I’m sure eventually, the writers will tell us who it was one way or another.

My opinion on the ending, it was revenge for this, these dudes were connected with the irish and it looked way to easy to wipe out their operation in this scene, tadgh and jonny were probably sent out to london to set up operations (gta vice city style) but they got smoked, and after they got killed in such a public manner in fron if presumably family, the irish would most definitely send top dollar hitmen to take out both sully and dusane. Sully's honestly lucky they didn't smoke him in front of his daughter, he had that shit coming.
