Hey man .. great video .. i hope you can help me out .. I have a tacoma 2021 RWD and already bought a rought country 3” suspension lift kit .. im wondering if 285’s will rub and to whats the offset on your wheel they look dope .. i wanna put 17 x 9 with an offset of -38 .. will that give me rubbing problems .. i like my wheels to stick quite a bit .. you help would be appreciated thanks

Those side bars suck, I had them on my 16 Wrangler and they rusted from the inside out. I bought Tyger Auto and they were so much better, didn't bend when we went off-roading at all. Will be looking to put those on my 18 Taco. Great video.

I want to use KO2 285/75 16 on my ‘21 TRD off-road. I have the dealer installed TRD lift kit. It gives me 2” in front and 1” in the rear. Will these fit my rig without rubbing? I want to upgrade to 33” tires without too much cutting or chopping. If these tires won’t fit, do you know what will?

The fronts never did since they are OEM, but the rears haven’t either. I had added resistors but took them off because I didn’t need them. No hyperflash for me

Hey there! I had the Rough Country 3.5 inch lift on this and it was nice but pretty stiff like stock. I was never a fan of how stiff the Tacomas are

Really! That's weird cause I just bought a 2022 tacoma TRD off-road that's basically brand new 6,400 miles. on it. Anyways, it rides like a caddy and I was asking cause I dident want to get into a stiff suspension. Thanks man

@@huskymoto9207 Makes sense! My 21 Off-Road wasn’t the smoothest, but maybe I’m used to Lexus. Everytime I’ve lifted a Toyota, it’s gotten a bit stiffer. I’ve used mid-tier Eibach, Rough Country and Bilstein.

if you arent buying rock sliders dont buy step bars or knock offs if you plan on going off roading... you lose clearing and if the bar gets crushed itll go into your side wall since its so cheap and not meant to handle weight. Better to take off step bars and mud flaps in general

This 2023 Taco is my 4th Taco (1995, 2003, 2012 and now 2023). I'm going to sound like an old fart here but 99.999% of the time big wheels, tires and lifts is a "personal compensation" thing and most people will never use it as it was intended. With thousands spent in those mods, these young, insecure new Taco owners spend all that money and don't even realize that not only are they blowing their fuel economy out the window but there are a ton of other negatives. Many of the suspension parts are going to wear out faster, a lot faster, costing big $. There's also the fact that as soon as you lift a truck, you can no longer tow with it. Some people try to tow with a lifted truck but not only is it unsafe and damaging to the truck, in many states it's illegal as it's so unsafe. Let's be clear... The engineers at Toyota use specific science and math to make the truck as capable yet safe as possible while preserving it for longevity. In the end, if you need mods to make tour Taco perform well off road then you are just not a good off road driver and need more practice. Or... pay the "I have a small P*n*s" price of thousands in mods so that you can try to compensate for your a lack of size and skill. Lastly to answer your mpg question, in my Tacoma expert opinion, this guy is loosing at least 4 mpg and up to 7 mpg depending on how and where he drives. If fuel economy is a concern, I'd run the smallest and lightest tire and wheel with a hard rubber compound for max mpg. I run 16" with an aftermarket alloy wheel but have to sacrifice 2 mpg on my tires as I live in a VERY snowy area and run Michelin Cross Climate (soft compound) tires. But for me the safety on snow and ice is worth the extra expense. Take this advice from an old fart professional driver with 3M+ miles under his belt. 😁

@@MartyMotoring down travel yes. Up travel no. Anything high speed on that must be super rough country lol.. I'm not hating dude, it looks super good, but performance on rc is garbage. 3.5 is way too much on the tacoma, your angles are all fkd up. Rc lift is a lift for looks. Look up lift options from king/fox/icon/bilstein. You can't get a 3.5 inch for a reason. Most stick to 2" just shocks or 2.5" with upper control arms and extended travel shocks.

@@alexgarcia3900 They have come a long way. It actually felt just like stock. Still kinda stiff like a car on coilovers. But it was the best way to fit 33s and there was still a good amount of up travel and of course lots of down travel. It isn’t the most comfortable suspension, but angles are ok due to the diff spacers and leaf block spacers and new included UCAs. All that is there to correct angles, caster etc. For a budget kit, not bad at all. 2.5” or 3” would have been fine, but this really gives that nice height without sacrificing too much.

@@MartyMotoring I agree, they never get used and are super over kill for a truck with little travel. Idk man maybe I'm wrong, but usually a 3 inch lift is already over kill, ive installed them all myself and you can tell the suspension is maxed out going down. I still wouldn't do anything high speed on that r/c lift though. What you should try to do is jack it up and see how much the wheels drop. I got bilstein 6112s amd 5160s and they perform very well. I got them on both of tacomas 2" lift on one and 1.75 on my access cab(that was recomended from manufacturer) and I went with 32s on both. I fly through washboard at 40 mph just fine.
