Someone should set up a non-competitive (aka, mostly just for fun and ridiculousness) game on Steam that has a workshop where people can submit their own card ideas and then the devs just add cards they like from the most upvoted cards every month or so. This way you'll basically have a 'reddit' card game.

but the defender classes have no payoff for lackeys yet ALL classes have big payoff for twin-spell, the neutral lackey card isnt for the good guys, its so all 5 evil classes get lackey cards so you dont need to print 5 redundant cards for each class to make sure they all get lackeys.

Certain Randomness Well, they did say that there will be more villains joining the League of Evil as the year goes on, so it’s possible that the new villains introduced will fit into the defender classes later on. It’s just currently a flavour issue, but maybe not in the future.

Two TINY problems; 1. EVIL rat is the ONLY card that gives lackeys to defenders (so far but probably ever) 2. It’s shit and no one will play it. For all intents and purposes defenders don’t get lackeys. I think the rat just exists to make lackeys more common in arena.

The weakness of EVIL Cable Rat does preserve flavor. By being irrelevant except in possibly a hardcore Lackey deck, Cable Rat will never, ever see play in a defender class. In contrast, Magna Aegwynn's would see play indiscriminately.

Not really as long as the twinspell effect works properly. Spells that were generated with twinspell can't have twinspell on them, otherwise it would be some sort of echo.

Actually, you're _both_ wrong. The copies generated by Twinspell WOULD in this case get Twinspell, because they're being enchanted with the effect by another card effect - and, when you play a card with Twinspell it DOES generate a copy without Twinspell, and there is a little animation.

Yeah, this would work. You go magna, prep, eviscerate, shadowstep. You’d be left with magna, eviscerate, prep and shadow step in your hand with no text. Just play magna and repeat forever. Bonus points if you have 2x eviscerate, 2x prep, 2 x sinister strike.

C thun reminds you every single turn, is something that the entire expansion is based off of, and reminds you of its existence constantly. Imagine printing the butterfly card and having a COMMON CARD show up eight times on the side, bonus points if it gets played more than once and there’s like 4 butterflies that just block the screen every turn. It’s just not worth the hassle.

I feel like since Fair Duel is a permanent cost drop of your hero power, applying it twice would mean a (0) cost hero power for the cost of upgrading your opponent’s hero power once. Which would be a problem in Wild Gatling Gun Priest, because they would have access to Shadow Visions

Fair duel could potentially be saved until both players have played their hero card, and then the "Your hero power costs 1" effect triggers but the upgrade effect doesn't, since only basic hero powers are upgradeable.

Transmuter in training: Make it "for the rest of the game, your spell damage = 0" Butterfly: Not gonna work, but I am surprised we haven't seen minions that lose health each turn, which also have some kind of interesting deathrattle effect. It could lead to situations where your opponent tries to heal your minion to keep it alive. Maybe "Can't Attack. Lose 1 health per turn. Deathrattle: destroy 2 enemy minions".

Why can't there be a new mechanic: 'Channel' where it takes a number of turns to activate? Minions would have to stay alive and the channel could be 2 turns, and spells could be shown aside and only have one channel spell active at a time? It makes them more powerful and also have setbacks

@@Jacob-fl1wm The problem with minions having the channel effect is that they'd be the target of hard removal and therefore can only find place in something like a control deck, and since they'd almost never go off they'd have to be strong and then it would just cause a lot of balancing issues. And the reason the probably wouldn't add some kind of spell counter to the board is because they want to keep the UI very simple. I believe the most recent UI change was the addition of quests but they were very big and all legendary cards, also they are there own kind of card. Clearly Blizzard doesn't want to tack on new UI elements just to make a minor effect work.

I feel like the charming butterfly is referencing the butterfly effect . It makes sense that it destroys all minions because the theory is that if a butterfly flaps its wings in the right place it can cause a hurricane and that could be seen as a board clear.

Morten Amdisen There is the bigger problem in that if someone plays fair duel and chooses upgrade your heropower and the opponent also has this card and plays it afterwards and also chooses upgrade your heropower, according to the mechanics, you will have a 1 cost upgraded hero power while your opponenet has a 2 cost one. Which doesn’t seem like a fair advantage for just playing the card first

The way to make in this corner work is to have it be 'the next minion you play this turn' and have it apply an effect to the minion you play that applies the +2/+2 and taunt to the next minion your opponent plays

Magna should just be a "start of game" effect. I know those are risky, but it'd force you to have one of each spell.

Please stop saying that adding something as simple as a glow effect on the cards in hand is impossible. It's completely feasible to just add a red glow to the minions in both players' hands to show the active effect of "IN THIS CORNER..." for instance. You'd never have greenlit C'Thun, dude!

Maxime Duranté I agree with this, and it's not like this "persistent effect" thing hasn't been done before. Dragon consort was a 5 mana 5/5 that said "The next dragon you play cost 2 less" and that didn't have any indication at all.

Kinda ruins the flavor, since It's introducing a fighter who then gets buffed, drawn cards would not be seen and wouldn't even need to be played for turns afterwards.

For Transmuter in Training, the only change I would make is to get rid of the word less. If all your spells costed 3 but had -3 spell damage, I think it could be workable. I imagine dropping her on turn 7 or 10 to combo with a big spell like pocket galaxy or 7 damage pyroblast.... Actually maybe still too good.

The design of and in this corner... is pretty easily fixed. Put a spotlight on your and your oppponent's hand. Kind of like a fighter introduction.

the butterfly reads 'in 8 turns' so shouldn't it tick on both players turn, like grul? so it would clear the board once 8 turns have gone by? Sounds awesome if can hold for 4 mana

0:25 No easy way to track "the next minion"? Are you serious? The game already HAS that mechanic! It's just for mana (ex: Dragon Consort). It shows up in your hand for all minions and once one is played, the effect runs out and the rest go back to default. Same thing here, just give all minions in hand +2/+2 until one is played.
