Trump didn't even mention the most broken aspect of Chromatus: when you get all dream cards, you can bounce Chromatus back to your hand and play him a second time.

You would need to be holding 5 other dragons excluding chromatus (because "if you're holding a dragon" cards don't count themselves). So it's a conditional 10 mana draw 4 (because you use the dream) if 5 of the cards in your hand are dragons... And note that unless you have a good nightmare target you also overdraw your next card cause your hand would be 5 dragons + 4 dream cards + chromatus. Yeah I don't think that's very good.

How draw 4 dream card for 10 mana is most broken option when other options are reno, twisting nether that summons 5/12, pyro that summons 5/12 and time warp with 5/12 You need to make essence of dream "choose 5 dream cards" or its complete garbage compare to other option due to being way 2 inconsistent and having high potential of not even getting all 5 dream cards. (Due to handsize)

@@MostUndignified Late but, no thats pretty bad. That makes him useless. Not only is not having any duplicates in hand a steep requirement. We don't have that level of dragons in the game. That and while the essence are strong they aren't big enough to be picked at random. You need a heal?, welp you just dealt 10 damage to the warrior with 40 hp. Need a board clear? filled your hand with stuff you can't play or don't want to play. Need tempo?, you just destroyed your board. Even 5 months later with ashes of outland. No highlander deck has the neccasary dragons, heck there aren't even any pure dragon decks that could reliably meet the chomatus requirement. Besides maybe gala priest with dragon package.

Vindictive Felguard should read "When you take damage on your turn". Pretty sure Blizzard doesn't want cards that punish people for choosing to hit face, as the rest of the cards designed around hurting yourself in Warlock specify that it must be on your turn. Bad design to me for that.

Hi, member of Omelette Gang here. When our team was designing that card I feel like we all had "on your turn" in our heads but just totally didnt put it on the card and forgot about the opponents turn. In hindsight our card should be changed and our team sees this clear as day. Hopefully you like our round 2 cards better :)

That being said, they allowed Snip + Mechwarper to exist, which is arguably around the same power level...

In his current state I think that would bring his power level down way too much as 5 cards are worth like 7-8 mana on their own. If you could think of a way to slightly increase his power level along side that change without making him too ridiculous that could be a good fix to tone him down and fix the issue of playing multiple copies of him.

Frostlich Jaina was only ever in okay decks because she was surrounded by the MSoG, JtU, KotFT & KnC sets, aka the most absurdly powerful sets since the game came out. This was followed by Witchwood, which had 2 of its legendaries prematurely moved to wild along with the sets from 2017. I don't think you appreciate just how batshit insane the power level of those sets were.

Classes can have a small number of cards that fit outside their theme (very small for basic and classic cards). Warlock may have soulfire but it has basically nothing else (I mean, hellfire, lol...). Most other classes (warrior shaman hunter rogue mage) have far more.

Chorus works like jade, it's not exponential, for example if you play 3 chorus minions in a turn you'll activate 3 times the first minion's effect, twice the second minion's effect and once the last minion's effect. A note on chorus: I think it would make more sense if it only triggered as long as the minion is on the board (chorus triggers all friendly choruses on the board) that way it is not as easily repeatable. That also makes more sense thematically, as all the different bards play a song together, if they are still alive. It does reward snowballing a lead though, which might be a problem. If that is how it is supposed to work, mb I misunderstood it.

It kinda seems to me like dragon's bane should be a palladian card. You'd expect the knight in shining armor to find the fabled sword that can slay dragons, as opposed to the war-mongering orc. Either that, or the flavor can be changed a bit to make it fit into warrior. Maybe just a more intricate picture.

Not sure if this plays in, but Dragon Slayer comes from the Berserk manga/anime. In terms of design, that would be infringing on their stuff, but if the concept art was literally any other cool looking sword, that would be a cool card. It should also be noted that Dragon Slayer in Berserk is eventually tempered to slay demons, though that's a whole other story

I actually like Chorus, in theory it's about the same powerlevel as lackey mechanics. You generate a ton of it but it's all weak. Possibly even has drawbacks on a bunch of them. Imagine playing something like "Chorus: deal 2 damage to your hero" because it's worth it just to trigger your other Choruses again. Should probably also all be cheap minions so you can play multiple of them and be attached with mechanics that give them more staying power.

DQ Alex doesn't win the game at all. If anything it's a value card. It can high roll into Kalecgos pyroblast or similar shenanigans but most of the time it's just 9 mana for like 16/16 in stats, and only sometimes gets you something immediately useful (rush/taunt). That's way, way weaker than taking an extra turn.

That technically isn't +attack, it's make attack = to toughness. Taking advantage of high toughness is definitely a priest theme.

Bloodcurser Shanan deserves some more consideration. The reward is clearly aimed at aggressive decks, but in order to use this you have to start the game with 20 health and spend 14 mana on it. Doing nothing and hurting yourself is going to get you killed against aggro, not to mention it's a dead card until you fulfil the conditions. In control matches this is obsolete against many combo decks. in wild there are ways to use such a big weapon for example throwing it at a minion or destroying it as a board clear or.... If printed in the right meta with the right cards to support it it sounds pretty good... -we already have too many 4 attack weapons in the game... Why not make 1 that is very strong but conditional and u need to build a deck to support it.... For example silencing weapons could be a thing or weapons that can only attack specific minions... Like take for example a weapon that is poisonous for beasts... Or 1 that reverses lifesteal so that lets say u attack a lifesteal minion u get the health... All pretty specific and conditional but can work if the meta supports it...

A funny way to balance the chorus mechanic would be that it also activates your opponents choruscards. Making it almost like a musicbattle. That together with having minor effects or even funny ones, like: "Chorus: deal one damage to a random enemy minion, then restore one health to a random damaged minion" (note that this could be abused with lightwarden (for example) and yes, even enemy minions can be healed)

I think Vindictive Felguard should read: Whenever your hero takes damage on your turn, this card attacks a random enemy. That way it can't cause an infinite loop, and it can still be stopped by having minions on the board. It keeps the flavour of the card as well as the flavour of warlocks not being able to easily deal direct damage. Should Bloodcurser Shanan become a hero card instead of a minion? Raise it to 8 mana, remove the 3/6 from it. That way it is comparable to Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. You'd need to pack your deck specifically with warlock spells with number text on them (Siphon Soul and Twisting Nether wouldn't gain lifesteal because they have no values) and maybe still offer 1/3 of your total health just to gain the benefit?

Having a hero card with an "activation condition" would be totally new and potentially weird though. It doesn't really fit the theme of hero cards to potentially play it and JUST have it be 8 mana gain 5 armor. I think that even as a hero card the hero power is too broken anyways (one elven archer + hero power = fatigue immunity + mage hero power with lifesteal every turn). "Your spells have lifesteal" is actually not as bad as the hero power IMHO, since lock has very few direct damage spells outside of hellfire and soulfire (which wouldn't be run in a deck like this anyways, since it discards stuff).

In that hypothetical scenario you described "you have 6 dragons in your hand, two of which are Chromatus" the 2nd Chromatus wouldn't trigger, because when you play the 2nd one, you've only got 4 dragons left in your hand, not 5. Unless of course, you happen to topdeck a dragon.

Comments probably already mentioned that Chromatis Dragon also adds Dream to your hand which is 0 mana bounce a creature. As long as you spend the next rturn emptying your hand of dreams you basically get 2 turns for their 1 turns. Maybe even infinite

I think Chromatus would just need cast a random dragon essence to be fine to exist. All of the essences are powerful but not all of them would always be good to get, and it's a big deal to hold 5 dead cards in hand till you get to 10 mana and your Chromatus.

Warlock isn't a burst class. But actually, non of the classes are burst since the charge mechanic isn't a favourable thing now. So what's the point here? I would say the felguard is fine, just needs to read "when you take damage on your turn", which matches the self-damaging theme even more.

Shanan should cap your max health, like Juraxus does, instead of requiring an amount of self-damage. Low max HP with tons of lifesteal makes for a very interesting game in my experience, as your opponent no longer cares about chip damage, but it still looking for a way to burst you down.

Hey I'm from Omelette Gang, we designed the 1st card in this video. We honestly didnt realise that infinite combo if the opponent also had a felguard and the card would for sure be different had we spotted that. As for the flame imp and abusive combo I think that could still be fine despite warlock having limited burst, cause if you're playing all those cards in a zoo-type deck that's a 4 card combo on turn 6. Idk if Warlock can last that long in a zoo game with that many cards in hand. Sure a whole new ""combo warlock"" could exist with this card but I honestly dont see it as too big of an issue. Perhaps if it was as simple as being 2 attack at base?? I like your idea of once per turn too. Thanks for featuring us :)

I think the biggest problem with the card is that it is really easy to make it overpowered with buff mechanics. While it seem like Blizzard doesn't want them too much in Warlock as of late but they occasionally print one and then you have all the cards in wild. In wild we have Power overwhelming which will buff a lot for very little mana and all that damage will go through taunts. Blizzard more or less could not invent hero damaging buffs if the card existed as it would just make the whole card way over the top. While they could do hero damaging buffs when the felguard wasn't in standard Blizzard still hasn't quite abandoned wild either

You know what would be a cooler idea for Chorus? If it was a battlecry, but repeated X turns later. So like, Chorus 1 would be on your next turn. Chorus 3 would be 3 turns from now. And you need to protect whatever creature it is for that many turns to get value out of it. For instance, if War Strummer had Chorus 2: Cast a random Paladin Secret, it would play a secret the turn it was played, then play another one 2 turns later. It's balanced because you could get okay value just by playing the "battlecry" and potentially even more value from the "chorus" battlecry.

If it were me designing Inner Focus the base cost would be 7 mana, but the cost would be reduced by 2 for every card *more* in your opponent's hand than you. So...if you have 2 cards in hand and your opponent has 5, that 7 mana cost would be reduced by 6 for a total of 1. The idea being that you have fewer distractions than your enemy and so can use less effort to achieve greater results. The cost would also never be allowed to be reduced to less than 1. So...the new wording would be "Inner Focus (7) Draw 3 cards. Reduce this card's mana cost by 2 for each card in your opponent's hand in excess of your own. This card's mana cost can't be reduced to less than 1." Or something like that.

I would argue the mini Rag should be 3 mana if it still requires a lackey and then the no attack with auto 4 damage. If you’re going to remove its ability to attack manually then it wouldn’t be worth per say in comparison to normal rag.
