Thank you both so much for doing this live stream! This is full of information and substance that I've needed in my singing life. You've given me so much confidence and freed me up with my singing. After several physically and emotionally traumatic issues, I lost the ability, confidence and strength to sing for a long time. Since 2018, I've been on a spiritual, emotional, physical and mental journey to healing. Only 2 years ago I couldn't really sing, it hurt, no musculature, no coordination, physical issues, bad pitch, there were times I thought it would never work. Here I am 2 years later with more awareness of my voice, much better strength, coordination, musculature, confidence, stability and so on. This video has given me more than just technical information, but your overall demeanor Dr Dan and Karen, the encouragement to be individual, not push, not get hung up on pitch, has given me more than can be measured.

dr dan, i tried REALLY REALLY hard to stay up for this live broadcast but i just couldn't! this was great, you and karyn did a wonderful job. i know that you said the topic of formants/harmonics is something that needs to be addressed individually with private instruction, but the topic is absolutely fascinating. thank you so much for being so willing to share your knowledge via this medium! hugs to you and your family.

Hello! Thanks for all the insights in this video. I've recently discovered your channel and been enjoying going through all the live chats during the lockdown. I'm wondering what was meant by "vocal distortion"? Also I was a bit discouraged because I still can't get the elusive vibrato. But it was nice to hear your take on it, that it's not the holy grail of singing 😂

would you recommend singing with your eyes closed during a performance helps the performance go better?

I didn't make it to the live session, but I have a question: how many times a day is safe to practice my singing? second question: how long should I rest?

Great info very hard to listen to.......you regular voice her loud feed back voice... stadium voice echo.
@dennislish20043 жыл бұрын
Ironically, this is so hard to listen to because of the echo. You would think that people who are presenting an instructional on how to sound better would not make this so difficult to hear and process. However, from the couple of other videos I watched, you always have good information, just kill the echo if possible. The echo is only coming from Caryn.

Yes. Back in 2017, I was still learning alot (and continue to do so) about streaming a live show. I'm pleased to say that, for the most part, my live shows no longer have any echo like you heard in this one.
