I used frozen squid there last month with my buddy. We caught nothing but stingray but then as soon as we were heading out. Right before they kicked us off the pier for closing, he caught a horn shark. We met some other dudes while fishing there too, just like you did. My fishing buddy since moved out to Utah. But I hope soon to be back at Malibu pier! Great video man!

I grew up fishing that pier. 35 years ago I landed 150 pound bat ray on my custom calstar and daiwa sea line .

Holyyy! That’s huge! Great job man! That must have been a fight! Do you remember what fish you used for bait?
@tonykim51626 ай бұрын
I think I used piece of sardine. It took me about hour and half to land that fish. I had a huge crowd on the left corner of the pier.

Yes! Great information, really well executed. For everyone!: You can park for free on the street within walking distance of that area if you just have a little patience. Wait a few minutes on the oceanside of the street. Also, the fish start hitting there closer to sunset. Get it.

Yessir! I forgot to mention the fishing style to catch mackerel or sardines on the pier thanks for pointing that out G!

What makes a good fisherman? Or like how do I even get started?
@FlyByFrancis6 ай бұрын
Honestly it's a lot of trial and error. But with surf fishing all you need to know is how to tie a knot called the "Improved Clinch Knot" and 2 rigs: the Carolina rig and the High-Low rig. Also, it would help if you understood how to "read" the beach. There's certain spots where fish like to hangout and hunt. If you know where to cast, your hook up ratio will improve. I'll make a video about these things too!
