It gets drank in Scotland with mixer; mostly cola, sometimes ginger ale/beer, very occasionally with soda. I'm not sure if it's still the case but there was a change to the duty (tax on alcohol, fuel and tobacco) in the UK that prompted the ABV of the majority of spirits to be reduced to 37.5% as otherwise they hit a higher tax bracket, bumping the cost up significantly. Whisky was definitely no exception. Cider had to be below 8.5% or be taxed as wine amongst other things. I know that this has been relaxed for scrumpy and ale as some of those are barking (Tactical Nuclear Penguin springs to mind). Favourite though is still Glenmorangie Lasanta but Glenfiddich 12 and Jura 10 are both semi regulars and readily available.

Dalmore 12 is my favorite. Why? It just has some more depth to it and the taste seems to be more interesting than for instance in Glenfiddich 12.
