As a 6’5” Yorkshire bloke, I’ve gone for a Ladies gun. After 30 years of 12 bore, my Damascene moment was at Gleneagles Shooting School with wife & daughters. We all used their Beretta OU 20 bores & it was good. Lighter more pointable , more polite, less kick. I’ve sourced a little-used one and all’s good.

How about doing another upto date segment on ladies guns? I’m hoping to buy my first shotgun v soon & would love to see current models reviewed.

I believe the gun industry as a whole have done themselves a disservice by not doing enough for ladies or just painting something pink. I have found that the ladies who do shoot are very good. But there are loads of other ladies who haven't started shooting or were discouraged by the lack of help on their own level. I know one lady shooting coach and she is always booked solid by other ladles wanting lessons.

I was forced to go with the Stoeger Condor Youth 20ga. for my Daughter. It was all I could find her locally that fit her for length. It's a bit heavy, but shorter barrels help it swing quickly with her small frame. She is under 5' tall and less than 90lbs. I had to raise the comb height because I couldn't find a Montecarlo stock for it.

I started my girls with Browning Citori CXS Micro in 12 Bore, not sure is they are still made but I started them out with a pair and they have literally broke me with slabs of 12 ga. They've shot in Texas, Kansas and Scotland and I do not regret the purchase
@bryanphillips72525 жыл бұрын
I thought there might have been a side by side or two in the selection given that they are generally smaller, lighter and more 'elegant' than the over and unders particularly if you get down in to the 20 gauges and .410's.
@orion78736 жыл бұрын
Syren makes great guns but... they are all either over/unders (more recoil) or 12 gauge (more recoil)... My wife would love to have a higher-end 20 gauge semi-auto with a nice classic looking wood stock.

Depends on the lady and her skillset. For Home protection u can't beat a pump action. A Remmy 870 or Moss 500 are the 2 best all around but an inexperienced person can forget how to operate it under stress. U gotta work the safety and hit one more button b4 u can even rack the first round in. Also I've seen people short stroke a pump after the first round which means no boom and u will also have to hit the button to work the slide again if that happens. A short 20 gauge double barrel or 12 gauge paired w a 38 or lite load 357 Magnum revolver. I was born w a gun in my hand. I'm a lifetime shooter and although my main sidearm is a 20 shot 9mm I love revolvers and have no doubt that they are plenty for personal protection if you practice.... but that's any gun. U must practice. Also if I was told I could only own one handgun it would be a 4 to 6 inch 357 Magnun. You can get w a 7 to 8 round capacity if your worried about it. Also speed loaders and moonclips are ( contrary to popular belief) usable. My wife isn't an avid shooter. I gave her a single shot 20 gauge and 5 shot 38. The 20 gauge has extra shells on the stock. Although w buckshot it's likely a one and done if u hit em in the trunk of the body. Even if it don't kill em they will not have any fight in em if u land that shot close range. They are extremely reliable weapons the break action shotguns and revolvers. I will take reliable over capacity any day

I've recently started taking an interest in Shotguns having been a rifle shooter in the past (the bullet boys tend to look down on the cartridge crew a little) and I've become addicted to your videos - really good and interesting, shame you're at the other end of the country.....

Very good guns, although the few 20's we have sold from armsan we have sold, have all had little teething issues. Once sorted though they are god as gold!
