If you think that's bad. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix has an achievement for beating the entire game without changing equipment. It's an arduous journey that is blocking me a platinum. The fact that you can't use a stronger weapon means that later on you're going to be doing a pitiful amount of damage which affects grinding and heaven forbid you don't have leaf veil/bracer.

'Playful but lonely'/'Running out in the open!' from La-Mulana. The main game is hard enough, but these achievements want you to play through the entire thing in HARD MODE, including Hell Temple, the ludicrously difficult secret area, as well as collect all items, sacred orbs, maps and software, find every secret, including the developer rooms, open every treasure chest, purposely avoid some early game items to buy them later, receive every email, and do all of that within 10 hours. Good luck with that.

The aptly named "You want me to WHAT?" from the hidden fighting gem Battle Fantasia. To get this achievement, you're supposed to perfect the final boss AND parry his 22 hit super in the same fight. A boss that has at least two unblockable moves. And for the record, if you doubt the strength of the boss, the game was made by ArcSys. He's comparable to golden Ragna (Blazblue) in difficulty.

Good list. One I know is painfully specific is "Explosion of Love" from Killing floor. Maybe not even the hardest achievement in the game, but it's one where you have to play as medic and heal yourself and 5 other injured players with one medic grenade that creates a healing spot. Its not impossible but it just is not something you will ever get by playing normally. You never want to cluster together, plus all players have a recharging syringe that heals them by themself. Getting everyone injured at the same time without dying and having to wait til the next wave to respawn, all while enemies that are constantly trying to gang up on you and wreck your day are coming for you is only going to happen unless you have five friends with you working for this achievement with how sparse Killing floor servers are these days. I remember I helped a friend get it by playing on the map "Crash," jumping off a balcony so we took fall damage, and letting her heal us. What might even be the case, because I haven't tested it myself or heard anyone do it, is that if someone hits full health before someone enters the healing gas, it doesn't count. They may have to be healed simultaneously.

Lego, you're not. As a person that perfect ran almost the entire classic series under the RoahmMythril ruleset (beside the luck based levels like Quickman), I can confirm without a doubt that Megaman and Bass's level design is the cheapest of them all. Only Megaman 2 (the Gameboy one), Megaman X6 and Megaman X7 have worse level design than it.

How about Wolfenstein 2? It had an achievement for beating the game on the hardest difficulty with no save points and without dying a single time. Doom had something that would let you save in between levels without dying, W2 forces you to beat the whole game in one sitting with enemies that can kill you in 3-4 hits with machine guns

Here's some amazing steps on how to enjoy your gaming experience: 1. Ignore achievements and just play the game regardless. Seriously, they will eat away at your mind until you become completely hollow in mind, thinking obsessively about pointless shit that really doesn't matter. They're not worth it and besides, it creates artificial longevity and wouldn't you want a quality gaming experience and not quantity for the sake of it? 2. Have friends over for local multiplayer so you won't feel lonely. 3. Don't be an elitist asshole who talks down to people who like things you don't. +Cosmic Waffles I more meant XBOX/PlayStation type "achievements". You get those by playing the game and there's no real feeling I get when I get those. Now Nintendo, they actually make you feel like you earned it by their unlocking of characters, modes and challenges (I get that). I wrote that comment before because of my frustration with the obnoxious attitude regarding specific achievements where people get the achievements (and *only* the achievements) and then never play the game again after, missing out on all the secrets and actual fun of playing a game and calling the games "content" where they mindlessly "consume" games until there's nothing left like an empty husk. There's no joy in that. I think it's really defeating the purpose of even playing the game if all people are gonna do is treat it like the next sandwich they'll eat. The fact people started complaining about the Switch not having an achievement system (like XBOX/PLAYSTATION) made me think it wasn't adding anything of substance to the table. I feel nothing when these show up. Nintendo's way of doing it has personality to it and doesn't feel soulless by comparison. Just thought I'd get that off my chest...

Do you want to know another horrible achievement? That will be the one in Catherine A.K.A. climb or die, where you have to beat the last stage of babel mode. Babel mode involves you trying to climb as high as possible by pushing blocks while the tower is random every time! There is an end to these stages, but it takes hundred of hours due to the nonexistent checkpoints, the huge length of the stages themselves, and the fact that one mistake will screw over your whole game! And no, unlike story mode, you can not undo your mistakes (Well, that also happens if you play on hard A.K.A. total completest hell mode)! Stage 1 is not the worst thing since it's mostly normal blocks and crumble blocks. It doesn't get hard until near the end. Stage 2 is more harder due to the lack of space you have for the first half and the tough patterns in the 2nd half. Stage 3 almost broke my soul due to the pure RNG that can screw you over! If you want to beat that stage, you must pray that nothing bad happens for 30 minutes especially when mystery blocks are involved, which you know, are block that only reveal what they are if you step on them! But then there is stage 4, the final stage. It the thing i had seen closest to being true hell! Like how are you supposed to survive a level so long having to be pixel perfect without any checkpoints while you are being rushed with some of the most bullcrap patterns ever existed?!! Oh wait, you can't. And that is coming from a guy who beat the first 3 stages of babel mode!

Haven't played Overwatch but it does remind me of a particularly situational achievement in TF2. I believe you must light a Spy on fire as Pyro, whilst they perform a specific taunt. The problem is that this taunt is for the Disguise Kit, which cannot actively harm people and if a Spy taunts someone after killing them, it is usually with the weapon they killed them with. I.e. people don't use this taunt often. To make things even worse, several other taunts have been added to the game, making it even less likely for a Spy to use his disguise taunt. It's easy to just get a friend to taunt and light them up but otherwise you're gonna have a hard time getting it.

Rockband 2's Iron Bladder achievement was pretty bull. Play the Endlist Setlist (all 84 songs, equaling over 5 hours) all in a row without ever pausing, failing a song, or having your batteries die. Any interuptions will count the attempt invalid. It must all be done in one fell swoop and I don't have that kind of patience.

I take that "The Floor is Lava" achievement, and raise you Zenyatta's "Rapid Discord" achievement... Sure the Lucio achievement requires map knowledge, experience with the character, and a bit of luck... but Zen's achievement requires the rival team to mostly consist of squishies, that can be rapidly discorded and killed within 6 seconds... and you need to kill 4. By that math, you need to discord and kill each enemy within a second of each other in order to have a chance to earn it... and no amount of Zarya Gravitons, Reinhardt Earthshatters or Ana boosts are going to make it easier. I could also say that Sombra's achievements are a pain (because I was one of the first on PS4 to earn Power Outage, by complete accident), but they are possible. Power outage just requires the entire enemy team in a small area, when you have EMP, and Hack the planet is just a game of patience.

The worst achievements I know of are probably the Bladder of Steel achievements from Rock Band 1-3. They require you to beat every song in one setlist in one sitting without pausing or losing. That can be over 100 songs depending on which game it is. The title of the achievement even proves they knew they were invoking incredibly unhealthy habits. Also, if you accidentally push the guide button or the batteries die, the game will pause & you'll fail the achievement.

0:40 The f*cking Bladder of Steel Award. Personally, I haven't attempted it (because I own the game on Wii, not Xbox360/PS3) but for those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, it's an achievement in Rock Band 2 that asks you to play through The Endless Setlist without pausing or failing. On Expert. The endless setlist is all 84 songs jammed into a 6 and a half hour setlist. And you have to do it without pausing. You might think, "Hey, maybe you can just press the Xbox guide button". Nope! If you press the Xbox guide button, it also pauses the game. You know what else also pauses the game? Running out of batteries in your instruments! That's means that you have to either put fully charged batteries in your wireless instruments, or use wired ones! But even then, if it somehow gets unplugged ( most likely someone stepping on the wire), it also pauses the game! The last few songs are also so f*cking hard and they're just made even more difficult by the extreme fatigue and frustration you'll be experiencing. Like the name suggests, you must have a bladder of steel to do this. Unless you switch out with someone else, but then only one person actually gets the achievement! And good luck trying to do this with a full, four player band, cause you all have to be on expert, not fail (as a band), and have good enough batteries/instruments to last the whole 6 and a half hours! Sorry that I went of on a long tangent, but as a long time Rock Band player, I just had to get it out there.

Nevermind that the barbarian has no abilities to increase block chance and is meant to be played like an unstoppable force, not an immovable object like the crusader, but the achievement is rng based, which completely defeats the notion of achievements being shows of skill.

Seriously, you'll never find anyone in the minigame in question, even on the server dedicated specifically to it. The floor is lava has actually been made a lot easier due to the recent buffs. It's still relatively hard, but it's nowhere near as hard as it was at launch, mainly because at launch you couldn't walk ride forever.

They should seriously change the Floor Is Lava achievement to something more reasonable. It's like if Tracer was given a Tank 1000 Damage achievement. It's completely against the play style of the hero.

(Sees number 3) If you think that's difficult, try perfect running nearly every boss in the series. Look up RoahmMythril's Megaman Perfect Runs. He's done every game except Megaman: The Power Battle and Megaman: The Power Fighters (I don't blame him, the bosses have increasing health), as well as Megaman and Bass: Challenger from the Future (It's Japanese exclusive since it's for the Wonderswan, but I've heard somebody's working on a translation patch)

can i just say that the fire emblem echoes achievement "Blitzkreig" is pretty annoying to get cause you need to beat the game in 500 turns or less, and if you are playing on hard mode that means you have to do alot less grinding especially if you are gonna go out of your way to try and recruit everyone (people like zeke, tatiana, atlas, the whitewings, deen/sonya etc)

I remember trying so many damn times to get that 7 day survivor achievement in Dead Rising, my god how many times I tried and in how many ways I failed, from getting distracted for a second 10 hours in and starving to death, to falling asleep while playing... I never did manage to get that damn achievement. I didn't think it was boring tho, just different then the main experience. I remember all the food runs at the start to stockpile a shit ton of food in one safe area, and going to get the books needed to survive before the military arrived. Definitely wouldn't say it's one of the top worst achievements tho, hard? Hell Yeah. Bad? Not at all. In-fact those are some of my best memories from the game, despite never actually succeeding at it.

Top five stupidly funny achievement names. My favourite: Time to go outside ~ Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare two. Get a character to master rank. I know this jokes been done lots but this is a rare achievement, I didn't know it existed.

I don't like achievments in general. Some of them can really give you a sense of acomplishment, but honestly, most of them are just there to make you do things you wouldn't do normally just to extend the game.

i have to say i have about 100 hours on lucio at this point, and i can actually wallride well and could even before his update made it easier, and it still took me (no joke) 10 hours of continous trying for the achievement and about a weeks worth of playing. its not impossible but no one is doing that while playing him. you can tell whos going for it on the enemy team most of the time

I'd have gone with that "Gamer's Day" achievement where you have to beat Mega Man 9 five times in one day. The no death/damage ones at least test your skill. Gamer's Day just tests how bored you are.

I honestly just dislike achievements for multiplayer. Like the ones where you have to win like 15 matches in a row. Or kill 30 players without dying. But multiplayer ones in general annoy me because if the game servers ever shut down (which lets face it, at some point, online games will reach the ends of their life cycles.) you can never get the trophies again.
