This ball is great. I’ve only played TF since I was a kid but I played lots of Titleist and Taylor, but I enjoy using the top flite balls. Work great for my game.

Question, I thought the reason a urethane ball stops and rips back when you hit into a green is because they have a higher spin rate...but it seems like you're saying that the material urethane also grabs the green better. So all else equal (which I know is almost impossible in real life) if an ionomer and urethane ball lands on the green with the same spin will the urethane ball stop and back up more than an Ionomer (Surlyn) ball? I've watched at least a half dozen of your videos and noticed many 2 piece ionomer balls have comparable or even higher SW and PW spin than the Pro V1. Great channel, love the focus on 2 piece balls. Appreciate any insight you'd be willing to share!

This is a really great question. I appreciate the view by the way. I will give you a quick answer here, but I'm definitely going to touch more on this in my next podcast episode. A simple answer is, yes. If two golf balls are spinning at the same exact rate, the urethane ball is going to grip the green a lot better. Better companies also use better quality urethane coatings, which will allow for more stopping power also. Urethane balls can get a little more spin just because of how the urethane reacts to the club, but in my experience it's only a 200 to 300 rpm difference for most balls

I've used these. For under a buck a ball, they're decent. Always felt like they had a little soft and squishy feel off the driver and long irons. TBH, I keep a sleeve of the yellow versions in the bag, as it makes a good choice for provisional ball versus my normal Kirklands, and they're solid for playing on my local par-60.

I like your review, and your comments are just. This is a cheap ball, but it does have it's props. This ball does balloon off the driver(10* adjusted from 10.5, and I may adjust to 9.5), so I tee it a little lower. I am a senior(65), and have tried all kinds of balls. I buy the better balls(3 pc., urethane), only to lose them over 4-5 rounds. Just not worth it to me. The spin that is supposed to help around the green, kills me off the tee. 2 piece balls don't spin off so bad from the tee when I make a bad swing. This ball keeps me in the fairway for thr most part, and really is pretty good off my wedges(CBX2's). It doesn't back up, but I can get decent check with this ball on the green, with well struck wedges. Distance control is not too bad. Fast greens can be a problem for this ball, just have to adjust for that. With all this being said, at this price point, not really a bad ball. The dimple pattern is a holdover from the D2 series, which I played years ago. I liked it then, still like it. Personally think that this cover, with the D2 pattern, grabs my wedges better than some other balls I've played recently. I still lose a couple a round, so this WILL be my gamer this year. At $17.99 for 15, and better yet, 2 boxes for $30 makes for a great deal. Scores coming down from the few rounds I have played with this ball, and looking forward to more rounds. Not a bad ball for this price range!! Also like that you do review balls that the average amatuer golfer use!!

Be careful buying Top Flight golf balls in the US at a Golf Galaxy. I just bought (11.16.2023) two boxes, they are having a "2 boxes for $25" when normally 1 box will cost you $19.95 for Top Flight XL balls (15 balls per box). When I got home I noticed that one box did not have the usual round clear stickers closing each end. I compared the balls in the box without stickers to the box with stickers. The balls in the box without the stickers contain balls that look as if they are defect manufactured balls. They have clearly been sprayed with clearcoat in a defective manner as balls look when buying refurbished balls on the 2nd hand market. The balls that came in the box with the stickers are A+ balls that a buyer would expect to receive when buying new balls. So buyer beware. Make sure the boxes of balls that you buy have stickers at each end. And by stickers I mean the clear kind that have to be cut in order to open the box. I will be interested to see how the defective balls play. I would return the grade B/C balls but I already put my playing mark on them with a Sharpie. Unfortunately I opened the grade B/C balls first and just thought, "these balls are really poorly manufactured." It has been a while since I have purchased Top Flight balls and just assumed that their quality control had gone down hill. It was not until I opened the box with the tape on it that I realized, "hey, this box was taped shut and the other one was not. Maybe this means that there is something fishy going on." And sure enough when I inspected the balls in the taped box they look completely different.

I wasn't aware of this, however I would say it doesn't surprise me. It feels like dicks sporting goods is just trying to use top flight as an extreme budget friendly ball. Looking to make a buck anyway they can

I shot my best ever round of 1 over with one of these balls. I could've shot even par if I was a little more aggressive putting on the 9th hole. It's a great ball, for the price point and availability. I want to love it, but I don't. I don't know why, but it's just a little off I guess. I definitely wouldn't have a problem using one if it's all I had, but I'm not going to go out of my way to play it.

I'm a seven handicap, and over the past 3 years I've tested over 60 golf balls if not more. I guess you'll just have to trust the experience.

With your mini golf game sucks anyway so what makes u think your qualified to give reviews on any product. When u can take any ball u want an out drive me with those hammer control then u can talk. I get more distance an control with these then i do the pro v1 or any Callaway even Taylor made. An i have a very fast swing an there the best on the market for that. Just because there cheaper doesn't mean there crap. Maybe if ud pay more then 5 Dollars for a hair cut u wouldn't like so much like a cabbage patch doll.

Hello Brian. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. You know, I've had plenty of people disagree with me over golf ball reviews over the past four years. However this is a first. I've never had someone get so offended because a TOP FLITE didn't test well. First time for everything I suppose. What I really don't understand brian, is how you could take a golf ball review so personally. I mean taking personal shots at me? Over a gosh damn golf ball review? Honestly I will pray for you my friend. I can't imagine how down you have to be in your life to say such mean and terrible things to someone over a golf ball that didn't test well on a KZbin channel.
