@@mikerieck306 I'm not disagreeing with the thrill of the ride, nor even they aren't thrilling to spectators. But 4 oil can sized pistons, or even 8 beer can sized pistons isn't near as thrilling as 16 oil can sized pistons, going down the track for spectators. 3,000 combined hp Vs 20,000+ combined hp. OP is "feeling of a top fuel going past you" as a spectator.

I remember my first time at the drag races. I was about 10 years old, I'm almost 60 now. My cheap ass Dad snuck me in through the back, into the pit yard. I actually got to meet Don Prudhomme. That "Best day of my life" at the end actually brought a tear to my eye. So glad this guy got to EXPERIENCE (because that's what it is) this in his life. You just can't adequately describe what the experience is like to people. Yeah, it's loud but that's only part of it. You can really FEEL the concussions from the engines as they rip on by. And if you're lucky enough to have pit passes* when they're tuning those things you'll REALLY get to feel the potato sack being slammed into your chest when they blip the throttle. Oh, and you'll find little pieces of rubber stuck to your face when you look in the mirror later on. * I HIGHLY recommend ear and eye protection. Ears for the noise and eye protection for the nitro-methane fumes which will make your eyes water, big time.

@zesolodar I started going when I was a kid in the 60s. Of course, they didn't have this kind of power. My uncle had a front engine dragster and raced at several tracks in Colorado. Later, in the 80s, I remember you could stand almost next to the track at Bandimeer Speedway west of Denver, CO. A car's blower belt or something broke, sending shrapnel everywhere. To a teenager....that was awesome!!!! And BOY....could you feel the cars. It made your bones want to rattle out of your skin. You had to remember not to inhale when they went by. It can get in your blood. I raced my muscle cars for about 10 yrs in club racing. My siblings still race. It is a great way to spend the weekend, get some blood pumping.

That's great! There's no way to explain to someone the amount of power those things have. They just have to see it in person and feel the sound in their entire body to actually understand how insane those motors are! Truly takes your breath away, and then those sweet, sweet smells. Love it.

I was some ignorant 13 year old kid from the sticks. First time knocked the wind out of me. I had tears in my eyes, it scared me so bad. Never experienced anything like it since. Never will. You only get that first time once. I love these reactions.

I can only liken this to experiencing something like a rocket launch or something like an F-22 at an airshow full afterburner. The absolute power that travels through the air and into your body is indescribable. It's only after you experience it yourself that you really understand just how powerful these marvels of engineering are.

I ❤ motorsports. A lot of people give motorsports a bad shake. But in person the raw power and technology behind machines is life changing.

I love it! My BF was on a Pro Stock team for years. I’ve been down on the track, during 4 wide at Charlotte, funny car & Top Fuel was crazy! You can feel the horsepower through every inch of your body. I’m so happy he loved it! Great first reaction. ❤

Man, you just made me have a great memory with my Old Man. I took him to Maple Grove Raceway for his first time seeing it. It happened to be an event with Jet Cars too! Them flames hit, and his jaw hit the deck. Pop wasn't much of a car gu, but he absolutely loved it. It was a blast watching this video. Thank you for sharing it.

Like that first time you go to the Daytona truck race at night. You walk through the tunnel and up to the fence. Then you hat, hot dog, beer, glasses everything go flyin.

It was the most incredible thing, the first couple runs i was repelled uncontrollably like that guy, once if forced myself to watch it, it rattled my vision and my skeleton. Highly recommend to anybody that has not experienced it. :)

You feel your ears tickle, your organs vibrate as the ground pounds when they pass in 3 seconds. I live close to US-131 sports park in Michigan, been going since I was a kid (now 70). Got to see big daddy don garletts, don the snake prudome, shirley muldowny, john force and all the legends. Watched the little red wagon wheel stand the entire length.

I've never been to a drag race, but I've been to 4 by 4 unlimited class truck pulls. There's a point where you no longer hear these things. You feel it. They produce enough noise to shake the ground
