I will never in my life get tired or not want to stand next to the nitro cars when they warm up. I was lucky to live in the US for a number of years and visited regularly prior to that and regularly spent the 4 days at Bristol, Vegas, Charlotte, Indy to name a few. Nitro alley is such a fun place to just walk up and down, talk to the drivers and crew, watch the teams strip these beasts down and rebuild in less than an hour and meet all the crazy nitro heads that breath the fumes. I love it when the crew heads back to hold the wing and the engine goes rich, you know it's go time 🙂

I was able to experience some fantastic machinery very close up.One Sunday afternoon at Englishtown NJ we had a Top Fuel team competing. Being in that tent when they warm it up and being down trackside when they run created forces and sounds overwhelm your senses. Almost beyond description. I believe if someones head was over those headers when he cracked it, that the head would get blown through the roof of the tent! No exaggeration.

@@DavidKrautscheid that’s a bit of an exaggeration. Rockets can hit nearly 200db, aside from huge bombs there isn’t really anything else that can compete with a rocket launch.
