I’ve seen them, yes extreme , but until you get offshore sailing in hurricane type winds, flying down huge waves . For hours and inside the boat sounds like the strangest hum…you have felt and heard nothing.

I was at the the Richmond science museum with my mother, my auntie and my little cousin on Independence Day in 2023. I was 14 years old at the time and we’re in the area where a SR-71 Blackbird is displayed. We were at the track area where 2 people race each other in a sprint then at the end there is this pad. I don’t know if you’re supposed to hit it or it’s just there for safety. Although me and my mom were going against each other. And as the machine when “Racers! Choose Your Lanes! On Your Mark! Get Set, GOOO!” I took of like a top fuel dragster and left my momma in the wind. There was also another mother and her children who were watching from the sidelines. They pointed out something that I never noticed about the attraction. There was actually something recording our speed and something on the side that compared our speed to fast things. According to that mother, I ran as fast as a cheetah. But that can’t be possible because on average, a cheetah can run up to speeds of 70 mph and humans at speeds of 40. But if you can at least get over 20 kmh, your fast and I ran over that before. But it wasn’t just the track that measured my pace. Downstairs was where not only are you fast but powerful. It was this hamster wheel which seemed a new attraction. It also had this light thing on the side. I guess that was to see how much power I have to generate light. I went to test it out and it wasn’t half bad. But the last time I got on it that day is where it gets even crazier. It was my momma, auntie, cousin and it was a child bout the same age as I was at the time. I got one and started of going slowly but then I went FULL THROTTLE!!!! I ran some fast that the light was ALMOST AT THE TOP!! Everyone was so impressed of how fast and powerful I was. I was impressed myself. Dang, after all that, I should have a new nickname. Reply to this comment for suggestions.

This video displays perfectly why I completely checked out on top fuel dragster racing. About 5 years back I was at Sonoma and out of 10 qualifying heats, only 2 dragsters actually made decent runs. I had spent hundreds of dollars and driven several hours to get there - for a bunch of lost traction duds. They just keep pushing the HP of the engines beyond what the tires can grip.

its all about the temp of the track im sorry youve experienced bad racing but we all have but its not about the bad times ive been going for 25+ years and these race's will remain the biggest memories of my life

Been to Norwalk many times and saw them all Force Kalitta all of them but after a while I leave the stands and go back into the pits while top fuel is running and talk to the sportsman racers because I enjoy them every bit as much as top fuel and they need some attention too. My favorite class is Pro Stock. I would much rather watch them run than top fuel.

everytime i see top fuel nhra events i am astonished at the very few people in the stands . when i was young going to one of these events was a pilgrimage . the stands were full all week end , so were campings and motels . i do not even understand how nhra is still alive and how can top fuel teams survive as well .

Wow love it when I first started watching the rails and the funny cars they were eight second-quarter miles and then it went to seven seconds and then six seconds and now they’re doing four second quarters miles. That’s unbelievable and if you went down to the pits and listen to the engines. It’s just unreal.

Wouldn’t it make sense to make the track a little longer and have the lights a bit further up so the cars car do burnouts and not have to reverse back to the starting line ?
@nicoleedinger8849 ай бұрын
It wouldn't really make a difference because they still have to go back to the start line in order to get reaction time and to know when to go with the lights, but I understand the confusion
