That unseen footage from 'Top Gun' of F-14 doing those crazy barrel rolls almost departing, throwing chaff/flares, turns etc. s gold. Wish we could see all of those hours of unused footage.

Just a mind blowing report. As a Norwegian teenager in 1986 I would never in my life have believed that I would one day sit here and watch and listen to the true, behind the scenes stories of the Top Gun shootings. Simply awesome. From the bottom of my heart, thank's.

Organ: "1v1 Guns Only" - LEGEND!!
@paulweatherford55442 жыл бұрын
My brother who graduated from the Naval Academy in 1996, had a teacher for leadership who flew the Tomcat in the first Top-Gun movie. His primary scene was the one where a missile was actually fired. Actually from what I know second hand, there was only one real missile actually released for the entire movie.
@TheOneTrueChris2 жыл бұрын
That's partly true. They fired one Sidewinder and one Sparrow. And if you watch closely, each successive missile shot is one of these same shots, just reversed back and forth.
@paulweatherford55442 жыл бұрын
The One True Chris The “story” from my brother was that the command only had one launch, but that is here-say. Now 2 we’re allowed. All good, but the launches and the use of cinematography had more when the movie was released as you are correct. From what my little brother said, command thought more were launched and they were upset, talking about O7 and higher in rank. 😀😀

I remember seeing Top Gun as a kid and my dad telling me that Ricky Hammonds was from our area and that he was one of the pilots in the movie. As I grew up, some of the coolest memories I have of growing up was when Ricky would fly over his family's air service in Houma, LA. For me, it was like seeing Top Gun in real life. I will never forget it. Thanks CDR Hammonds for bringing fighter jets into our everyday life.

I can listen to you and your guests all day long on your & there exploits flying fighters. I still like it when I think he said flying the F-5 the best. I think it just shows while you two have parallel worlds of flying that the ages of the aircraft i.e F-5 (1980''s)for him and the F-16 (2010's) for you show the positive technology progression in our flying fighters. Great show Mover, thank U.

Thanks Mover. Appreciate your excellent edits & production work on this episode. Thoroughly enjoying this series with Organ, a real raconteur who obviously walked the talk Interesting note: did it by the book (no holding the stick joke, no mid air collision), EXCEPT for that hairy 4 F5 butterfly merge with the F14 - 500 feet out the window!

Organ here…some of you have alluded to this already, but Mover’s editing skill is pure Magic. My internet connection was TERRIBLE! We lost complete connectivity at least 5 times with countless video freezes (both of us) and audio freezes on my end. And, I have AT&T fiber optics, high speed internet 1000!!!😳 So, I was disappointed (to say the least) with the buffering, etc. that occurred. Too late for this interview, but I do have a request in for a new Router…😁 Overall, Incredible skill(s), time and effort by Mover to bring His channel/these videos to everyone!!!
