Even though I was career Air Force, this scene is extremely realistic. All our classified flight academics were conducted in an open hangar on the flightline. It was noisy as hell with jets in the middle of preflight checks and maintainers doing engine run ups that we had difficulty hearing the instruction. Plus our papers would blow off our desks and we'd have to chase them down the flightline before they got sucked up into an intake. I always wondered why we didn't just conduct classified academic instruction in a secure classroom, but that's the military for ya.

@The Greatman lol, My Dear....I suppose you are not right when it comes to god. So called god exists and this is confirmed FACT....people knew it 18 000 years ago.... just nowadays generations are so deeply indoctrinated by materialism they have no idea about anything... Doesn't matter if people believe it or not we are all dependent on so called god.
@magorzatamargaret2945 жыл бұрын
@The Greatman - you confuse something here. I am not talking about any religion... And I know your way of thinking - meeting it so often in people's statements. Just you don't know that human mind with its logic...(including the science) operates just up to 4th level of Consciousness....and we have around 15 levels of Consciousness - the science as we know it today has no access to higher than 4th level... Then if you talk about scientific evidence at this topic this is like you would try to hammer a nail into an air.....is it possible ?? Rather no - I would say... The science is not able to research on this topic as they use incompatible tools. The only people who explored it are mystics. Mystics are most open-minded people possible....and this is why they are not liked by religion. And yes, religion keeps sheeps....just there is something additional to religion - they explored all the levels of Consciousness perfectly ages ago and they are aware how it works (just nowadays only high in hierarchy priests know how it works and they pass it through the generations - average priest has no idea what he does during the mass and huge energies are working there). I am interested in this topic for over 35 years so I know "a little bit". There is one (actually a lot, just I am not able to describe all I know in here) interesting thing that mystics know: on the border between 8 and 12 level of Consciousness everything is inverting up side down... interestingly new born babies see everything up side down before the brain will adjust their vision. There are books who tell us about the same like "Alice on the other side of the mirror" called literature of nonsense...just this is exactly the way reality works... And getting back to your science - are you aware that 1 single atom is empty in 99% ??? And this is stated by physics. Everything is made up of atoms. So, the physics started to look for the 1% left in atom....and they do that already for years and they can't find anything.....this is what we are made of.

All hallmarks of the brave,smartass yet noble and innocent "American good guy". But in 2017 this all appears so crassy and cheesy. Perhaps American image has taken a hit in the last 15 years and don't find them that naive. What a cultural shift since sept 11th. Sad. It was such a great American era when this movie came out. I loved this movie because I just joined the military the year this movie was released. I love this scene but looking back now,I noticed that this scene is more like something you see in a high school classroom when the students are cracking jokes during class while the teacher is trying to teach. I would think that in a class in Top gun school where a Ph.D. is teaching and the students are all lieutenants naval aviators there will be a very professional environment. Another thing, why would the commander will have to explain to naval officers that they don't have to salute a civilian working for the government? That is something that you learn in basic training when you first join the navy.... Either way, It was a great movie!!!

She's a high ranking civil service employee..so they were expected to treat her with the same respect due a Naval officer. From what I've read these guys are pretty egotistical.

@@briang.7206 I understand that she had to be respected for being an expert on her field but she IS A CIVILIAN! They teach you that in basic training if you ever served. I did.

Thumbs up for Lieutenant and Ma'am...both so professional and got so non-professionals...as when love comes between two hearts and commands them it let them beat with its new rules of love and attachment.

Tom Cruise made the US Navy the bad-ass entity that it is....with our countries most...talented. Thank You. An honor to personally observe F18's everyday and the occasional F35 and F22. The F14 is a legend.

@sukhmaidickoff3 жыл бұрын
@@renehenckens What relevance does it have if she is a civilian or not? A public employee - for instance a guard at a big town hall - also gets his uniform financed by the tax payers - even he is a civilian. Civilian just means not a part of the army.
