A little decor tip I love is using table decor or certain sculptures as unique wall art. I hung an interesting wood piece on the wall that was intended as table decor and it looks amazing. It’s a large, yet shallow, Scandinavian, style bird dish. I get compliments on it all the time. There’s something so fun about changing up wall art, so it’s not all just square, framed, artwork.

I love your idea, and how you thought outside the box and did something different with that bird dish. Totally agree about utilizing a decor piece in a way that it wasn't really intended for. My mom is giving me 4 gorgeous gold door handles (not door knockers) from Restoration Hardware, intended for a front or back door. They're incredible, with all these delicate carvings on them, and even have a lion's head on the top. RH doesn't make them anymore, and my mom's had them for idk how many years. Instead of installing them in our doors, I'm going to put each one in a shadow box and then put the boxes in a tight grouping format on the wall, as art, and then install a light fixture above them to display them. I love how we can all share ideas here, and hearing about different ways of doing things. xo

I dedicated the past 8 months to the basement, painting the interior of our home, and idling ourselves of surplus home items. The goal is to make our home comfortable and pretty. You and your tips have been inspirational. Part of my plan is to use some items we already own. Sounds safe but it isn’t. It is a challenge. Incorporating my hubby’s style with important. Wish me luck.

While driving to visit my friend in Maine I found Home Goods heaven. Drive I 90 east of Rochester NY to Boston MA. I saw Home Goods headquarters from the Interstate. I stopped at all HomeGoods stores along I 90 & they were amazing. Stocked full of furniture & items that don’t seem to make it out west.

Thanks so much for taking us to Home Goods and I’m so jealous of how large yours is. My Home Goods has less than a fourth of your furniture options. Every time something comes in it’s gone. I saw a wooden bench there in the spring and I didn’t have room in the car. The sales person said there were 3 no problem. I went home and brought back a truck and all 3 were gone. When you see it you need to get it or it’s gone

What is frustrating for me is that they load up on so much seasonal decor, they don't have as much of the basics, like seating and tables. I don't go as often when they start putting out Halloween decor until after about February when new regular merchandise is plentiful.

Hey Valentina! Now that fall is right around the corner i start switching my blankets and pillows. In summer i always go light like white and beige. In fall/winter i switch to darker colors like grey and black. I also change the sofa color (ikea kivik ;-)) and i wonder, what colors to choose this year. Maybe you could make a video about the colors and trends of the season? 😀
