I am 64 years old so I have lived through all these “new” trends (from space age 50/60s furnishings to rattan and cane in the 70s). My word of caution is to be careful on the bold, rich marble in your bathroom and kitchen countertops. I saw this come and go and to this day I cringe when I see these “colorful” marble countertops in homes that haven’t been updated since late 70s/early 80s. I like the idea of using the marble in accent pieces.

If I were to invest in something really expensive like a bathroom or a kitchen I I would (and did) try to make it as timeless as possible. This is especially true for extra costly things like stone backsplashes or countertops. As Liz says, trends come go. I've been a child in the 80s and I remember all the things that were fashionable then and how much we loved to see them go. I've noticed that there are different perceptions of luxury between the US and Europe, so I don't want to judge. But to my European eyes anything that screams "MONEY!" at you as this bold marble trend does wil always look new-rich rather than refined.

As accessories...yes...but, I would never use it on counters...it stains so easily. It is beautiful on small tables and as picture frames. I love marble...the French do...but, it would tire me with too much.

I'm in love with Emerald Green, and I live the Grand Looks, because it's what I grew up surrounded by. My parents were antique enthusiasts and their home is beautiful, rich and eclectic, with a few items that are newer. Its just the best of both world☺️🛋

The curvy furniture just smacks of Barbie Dream House furniture from the early 80s, or the inflatable teeny bopper furniture from Claire's, or Delia's, circa 2000. It just looks juvenile to me. Definitely not a trend I'll be implementing in my home. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m so happy warm, rich neutrals are in style, that’s how my home is decorated, and with the gray tones, I have had trouble finding things to buy... it took me 6 months to find a quilt for spare bedroom I’m with your Mom, looks itchy to me too

agree i love color. they went too far w gray. it was suppose to be a nice neutral base. not the accessories and everything else. grey looks great with every single color esspecially maroon, blue, and yellows. but really any color could be used to brighten up a gray based room

I’m with you there. Why not go for the real thing, and use sheepskins and those Icelandic wool rugs? Sherpa and “teddy bear” fabric, at least in the past, got grody and nasty-looking pretty quickly. Sheepskins are very, very soft and warm! They’re the favorite napping places for my cats.

Have you ever done research, even a little bit, to see what the fur and animal hide industry is really about? That goes for goose feathers and leather and though I don’t like snakes, even snakes should be able to keep their own skin. I am proud that I respect and can emphathize with these animals because there is no class or fashionable style in harming and killing an animal so you can be on top of the “trends” or impress other people or make yourself feel like you are fashionable and can afford this gross mess. You’re not a pioneer woman in the early1800s or homesteader from the Wild West or colonial era. Thanks for your name calling. You must have done well in school.

Yeah! I have an antique aesthetic tooo (1800’s) with a very, very light touch of Steampunk here and there... People often comment on how cozy it is as well 😊. I like it because it’s not typical from what everyone is used to seeing, and the antiques are good conversation pieces if anyone asks about them.

I’ve been going vintage for so many years, I grew up in a primitive, antique styled home. So I feel like it’s just something I cling to. Most of my furniture my father has made. I love marble but it is exspensive I was lucky to find a marble round end table and a slab of marble to fit a solid oak credenza I already had at an estate sale. Try to add a peice in a room and try to get it used as I did in case it's not for you

The prewar NY apartment I left last year had the most beautiful wall moldings throughout. I definitely miss that element in my new house, but I can't wait to see you add this to your home, Arvin. Perhaps it will even motivate me to do the same! I'm on the fence with the teddy bear fabric, so I use soft cable knit throws to cozy up my space instead. I got swivel barrel chairs last summer - does that count as curvy? Love your suggestions for 2021, please keep em coming!

I work at target and I was able to get the beige Studio McGee boucle throw for only 4 dollars!!! It was part of the seasonal items so it went 90% off a week after Christmas and I just had to have it! I also bought the deep green version as part of my Christmas decor.
