I think everybody has certain styles and techniques that gives them a certain amount of comfort. And the fact that we can watch this and laugh. Or grown. And then someone else says I'm not giving up my big brown ugly sofa. It's all good. I wish we could do that with people sometimes. You know the big fat ugly person in the corner that just doesn't make your life happy. Just turn them in for a better kinder person. Ha ha. But that's where my mind is tonight. So it's all kind of fun. You have to take The good with the not so good for yourself. I'm doing Swedish death cleaning right now which is an interesting style to get rid of stuff that I will never really need. But I've had some other people say how cute. So I'm going to gift it to them. What the heck. It's only rock 'n' roll. Or reggae. Or blues. Or whatever the hell you want. So you go gurl.. And we will go gurls and here we go gurls. Hee hee

Oh wow, I LOL'D at least 10 times during this video, and NOT because I disagree with you at all! You just have a gift with phrasing that makes everything fun and funny! ie: "you think you're designing, but you're just creating clutter!" That is a lesson that will stay with me! 🤭

I enjoy mixing and matching my furniture. Since we live in a log cabin, I stay away from modern pieces, just does not feel or look right to me. I like the warmth and character of wood. Not a huge dry floral person either, it's up there with faux plants. I am always moving my furniture around as well. Something else I avoid, area rugs over hardwood floors. We need to expose the beauty of the wood and the rug mask it. Instead, I prefer a bigger coffee table to tie the furniture together. I group my pieces in odd numbers with difference in height, love it! I enjoy your advice, thank you!

With 822 comments so far, I'm pretty sure you won't get to this! All the same, thank you so much for your channel. Love it! I live in an almost impossibly tiny place and I'm proud to say I have good design instincts as reinforced by you. I'm forced to be a sally ann boho woman, and so my love of color and dimension saves me. I can't afford any space for the usual "decorative" space fillers like vases full of weird wicker balls or dried flowers. Ugh. I feel like every area of my place is like an alter. Each stone, painting or tchachka has meaning. With the lack of space my main challenge is creating a sense of said space! I'm pretty damn good at this. Your main advice that piqued my interest is your "rule of three". Thank you! Love you!

Love your videos, thank you! If by chance you are ever interested in a home decor topic... I’d LOVE if you could do something on decorating & styling a teenage girl’s bedroom (around the 16-17 years old). I know teens like their room to include elements that represent their style, who they are, etc. But being clueless more often than not, it’s quite the challenge for “mom” to advise teen daughter on having a classy, trendy & personalized bedroom. I’m currently (and have been) in that situation where I’m trying to explain having core, classy, neutral foundation items, balancing the look f the room, adding one’s own style without compromising the core elements and the balance & luxurious look those somewhat timeless items provide in the room. For example, placement of bed, large rug in room to warm it up, keeping clutter off all surfaces, neutral colors that will work with any accent items, simple yet soft & easy to maintain bedding, how to display 1 trillion pics in a visually appealing manner, souvenirs/mementos can be stored in memory box, not all over, etc. Maybe my ideas above are not correct, but with virtual school being the norm at this point, I find the room so busy, off balance, oversized items (think of a queen size bed filled with pillows, a few gifted plush toys, an iron cast canopy bed frame, & famous oversized Egg Chair from Target which is more like a patio or indoor day room type chair), I can go on. The room has lots of potential and it’s actually a beautiful room that’s hiding underneath all the stuff. Anyways, if you ever want to explore this topic, I’d be thrilled. If not, no worries, it’s not easy & perhaps a rite of passage they all go through before getting it. THANK YOU ANYWAYS, LOVE YOUR STYLE, DECOR, OUTFITS, EVERYTHING!

You are so right about the grey. I painted my room a whiteish grey, and when I made my bed with dark/ light grey Casaluna linens, it looked very cold and wrong. When I switched to cream for the bedding everything started working together. And I love my grey walls

OMG, Totally agree about the grays theme (and I love gray)....but there’s a KZbinr that does gray/mirror everything and I’m like....enough!

Another great video Arvin. Have you ever made a video explaining your background/training? You have an eye for decor. Were you in the industry?

I’m guilty of making several of those decorating mistakes too! But I’ve learned & wont do it again. I enjoy interior design a lot.

Arvin! You're my FAVE new channel! I've watched every single video you've posted since I found your account. I also went to 3 Homegoods today looking for these miracle wool rugs - no luck! I've also been looking all over the stores for the signature Arvin "VESSELS" - what section are they in?! I haven't been able to find anything *yet*!
