Top Italian Restaurant in Downtown Mount Dora, Florida | Gianni’s Italiano Restaurant Review

In today's video, we are almost finished trying all the restaurants in Downtown Mount Dora, Florida so the next one on the list was Gianni’s Italiano Restaurant in Mount Dora. There are not too many Italian options in downtown. We went know what to expect, other than we saw that it was a real, authentic Italian restaurant. We decided to eat outside, since it was a wonderful evening! Our waitress was really nice and very helpful! We asked what we should get and after the suggestions, we decided and the spaghetti and the chef’s special. We are so thankful we tried those! The chef’s special is so unique but very good. The sauce is stinkin’ good and we went as far as to say that it was a top five dish in Downtown Mount Dora! We had to try some of the dessert since they offered two of our favorites. They didn’t disappoint either! We even got to meet Chef Gianni! Overall, it was a great experience and we were glad we went and tried Gianni’s Italiano Restaurant in Downtown Mount Dora, Florida!

Fresh pasta and wonderful results with their specially prepared dishes. Love the pasta with pears and shrimps. Excellent service. Don’t forget the brocheta and the tiramisu.

I really appreciate your video, I’m in Orlando and every once in a while, we ventured to Mount Dora so I’m going to look up all of your recommendations so we know where to go. I’ve eaten in the German restaurant two or three times and I thought it was very good and the entertainment is always top-notch. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to do this video.

The German restaurant is so so but better than the big one in Sanford. I found the best one in Tampa. I lived and worked in Germany and as a Swiss I know German food, I grew up in Europe. They are however very nice people and important is the guests like it. I am also a trained Chef. It is hard in general to get original German meats especially Leberkaese or it's ingredients some are not allowed to be imported. Just go to Canada, there they are allowed to get it all in. Original meats, cheeses etc.

Swissted Chef, I passed, many times, a (large) German market just off Hwy 95 coming back from Miami, I went in once, but felt overwhelmed by the names of the meats & all the different foods.

I cant wait to find out. So far in the USA and especially in Florida (compared to the West Coast) the Italian places are more authentic Italian-American than Italian. I lived and worked in Italy, I am fluent in Italian, I grew up over 15 years 10 mintues from the Italian border and I do know good real Italian food. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Fair enough

I would say it’s pretty tough to find super authentic Italian since we are in the US. Of course Italy will have the best Italian but we enjoyed this place!

I hear (from a friend in TV,) that "I Do" is a great place for a lobster roll! Haven't had it myself, so I don't know if that's true, being from New England...

I'd have to go with the shrimp dish. And i love creme brulee! Glad y'all are finally branching out. Adult food! Seriously, i was getting quite board with the same old pizza, wings, grilled cheese videos and didnt finish wathing them once I looked at the menu and your selections. I wonder how that German restaurant is? We're German. I think I would order the veal marsala or the chicken piccata - It's always such a toss up for me, that's a common libra trait. Alex's dinner looked amazing! At our local Italian restaurant, we usually get cannoli for dessert (they come as two per order) but I'm always down for Tiramisu and Creme Brûlée! We just got back from Sandals Montego Bay and one of the restaurants had THE BEST creme brûlée we've ever had in our life - Super custardy! It was in a giant vat on a buffet, and were the first ones to break into it.

I live in Ocala. Parking in Mt. Dora is REALLY bad! I am sure the food is good but I think I will stick with Saw grass dock side or Lake side. Parking is much better!

Why not just get the unsweetened tea and add sugar or sweetener, since they likely offer that to customers ordering coffee?

It wasn’t a matter of getting unsweet tea or not but we were simply letting others know they do not offer sweet tea. We usually do half and half!

Don’t confuse happy with tired since she is a teacher she works a lot and sometimes she doesn’t want to be in the video and that is completely fine! She works harder than anyone I know so yeah she probably was pretty tired that evening but still chose to be a team player and tag along!

@billyjack3361 I thought the same thing before when I only saw maybe 3 videos, but after watching a lot of videos from them then asked my wife if I do the same, she said I don’t smile ever in public. But some of the other videos Tem does smile and laugh. Just need to see enough videos to interpret a personality, so watch more of their videos. My wife and I went for drinks and the tiramisu which was delicious and she wanted the full dinner now at this place. I know what to get now that “Ryan Reynolds” stunt double ordered it. Great video.

Cute place, just looked at their menu and it is very basic and geared towards an Italian American food lovers based fare. Some northern influences but was I said, the guest must be happy. It would not be for me. The pasta dishes photography could be more elegant. Anyhow, this is just my opinion.
