It's a crime that Joe Theismann is not in the Hall of Fame!! I grew up a Washington Redskins fan and Theismann is my all-time favorite QB. Their victory over the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl XVII will always be one of my favorite childhood memories!

Thiesmann had the defensive play of that game, tough competitor despite being on the small side for an NFL QB.

Theisman and Riggins two of the best. Very much underrated. Always a Redskins fan since childhood. Tragedy with his injury, remember watching the ga me that day

Theismann starred for the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL for three years before joining Washington. He loved to run the ball himself in Toronto and was extremely exciting to watch.

I guess Theismann was a excellent athlete in baseball & basketball also. My opinion, he was underrated in NFL
@jameshutchinson5683 жыл бұрын
Definitely underrated. Theismann is the only QB who has won a Super Bowl and NFL MVP (1983) who is NOT in the Hall of Fame. If they put Ken Stabler in the Hall of Fame with his ridiculous number of interceptions, then Theismann should be there as well.
@reilneid64363 жыл бұрын
@@jameshutchinson568 hey James is I take a lot of bullshit for saying this but .... If Joe Namath is in HOF, Theisman should be in w/o a doubt. Namath is in cuz 1 lucky win & fur coats & TV commercials. Namath threw more interceptions then TD'S in his career, but a great college player. I'm not a Namath hater or Redskins fan, I just think it's to easy to get in for some.
@jameshutchinson5683 жыл бұрын
@@reilneid6436 You are absolutely correct, I don't know why you take a lot of shit for saying that. Namath played very poorly at times, even during the early part of the 1968 season when they won the Super Bowl. I think Namath would have been an all-time great if not for his knee injury in college. I love Namath and he is one of the most important players in the history of the NFL, I actually got his autograph when I was a kid. However, his career stats are definitely not worthy of the HOF.
@reilneid64363 жыл бұрын
@@jameshutchinson568 that's awesome getting his autograph. I really was a Namath fan but better remember him at the end of his career. Those knees just ruined what I thought could of been a top 5 all-time & definitely was popular & good for the NFL. Nevertheless, my opinion is it's to damn easy to get in NFL HOF. More INT's then TD's. That alone....lol. I do think Theisman is HOF.
@jameshutchinson5683 жыл бұрын
@@reilneid6436 Yes, definitely. People forget what a fantastic athlete Namath was at Alabama. Namath also had a fantastic arm, but made a lot of bad decisions. Ken Anderson is another QB from that era who also had a stellar career and was better than Stabler in my opinion. And Bradshaw also threw a lot of INTs. I believe he barely had more TDs than INTs during his career. I would take Staubach and Theismann over Bradshaw any day.

6:54 That was 68 yards in the air on target. And they said he didn't have a big arm, bullshit.

Only really played in one season where he averaged over 100 yards per start(1984), next season he was either injured or phased out for Clark who turned out to be better. (correction edit, he had over 700 yards in 8 starts and 10 games played. If he got in a full season he would have had over 1000 yards.)
