I would strongly advise against cutting anything on a silpat mat. They’re reinforced with fiberglass and become compromised when the rubber is pierced or cut. You definitely do not want to possibly consume fiberglass. 😅

Totally get the love for a certain knife. My grandma taught me from a young age to buy knives from Switzerland, USA, and Japan for the best quality metal. I find some great ones thrift stores, garage sales, and auctions.

My Instant Pot is an absolute essential item! I only use a couple of those items regularly: knife, whisk and zester. Have you seen spurtles? They are AMAZEBALLS! I’m Asian. Where’s the wok? 😉😁

Hi, Chloe. Thanks so much for this practical yet fun video. I like your selection of key kitchen tools and you've chosen some great brands. I personally love my Chantal cookware and Wusthof knives. I have also come to appreciate the set of Farberware pots my husband inherited from his mom. They are incredibly reliable and easy to clean. I do rely on my tongs as well. However, I think it's time to upgrade from the rubber band I've been using for mine and buy a proper pair like yours. And I couldn't do without my two whisks, thank you very much. I just recently acquiesced and bought a couple of cooling racks. How the heck did I go so long without them? It's a real game changer when making larger quantities of pancakes to freeze. And I love my set of glass mixing bowls, especially the two extra large versions. Thank you again for the video and I hope you and your husband are doing well. Cheers, Ardith

Hi Ardith! I hope you are staying safe and healthy during this time! Thanks for tuning in! The tongs! See I knew I couldn’t be the only one that has experienced tongs going haywire 😂 they are such a key tool. I am going to look up the Chantal cookware, the name alone sounds fabulous!!! Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful week! -Chloe

I rediscovered scoopers recently after getting rid of one years ago that didn’t work worth a darn for ice cream. But oh my gosh, they work like a charm for everything else. Would definitely be on my list too. 🍪

I LOVE my Cutco knives. It was a gift from my father-in-law. I cut myself the first day I used it too because I didn't understand their power. haha

That zwilling knife is beautiful. You should probably oil the handle from time to time, so it lasts

Uh... you're def missing out by not getting an air fryer! I suggest a big oven-style model with racks, like my Yeti brand one!

My MIL got one for Christmas! Maybe I’ll have to add one to my kitchen ☺️😁

They are just so nice, especially bc you don't have to heat up the whole oven or preheat. Saves time and energy! Also, the convection type heating gives great fried-like cooking to the entire surface. 😊

Silicone is usually able to be sterilized over 134°C. So I am sure a dishwasher would be fine.
@BoxwoodAvenue4 жыл бұрын
My thought process exactly :) when I mentioned it on IG, some said that the Silpats aren't made for the dishwasher - but I still do it, and it's been totally fine!

We have wusthof knives and the first time I used them I def cut myself. I had never used a NICE knife before. I still, to this day, almost 8 years later have to be careful with them hahaha. Still so sharp O_O.....they're amazing. So, when people see the knife prices just know wusthof and henkels are gooooood knives. With that said, I'm so glad we were given ours for our wedding because I clicked on that link and sucked in air like noooope. LOL! But they are worth it. I just don't need anymore.

Like me and my thermometer, couldn’t believe it was $100, I think it’s worth it, but seriously thankful for the generosity of family and friends at our wedding for gifting us such amazing and useful tools! And every time I use it, I think of the family that gifted it to us, really so wonderful!
