Hi! I stumbled across your Marketing videos almost a year ago when I was still deciding on my major. I just wanted to say thank you for providing such great information and advice that led me to choose marketing as my field of study. Although challenging, I do not regret it one bit. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing a great job!

Love this video! As a potential marketing student... I found this very useful. Full transparency, I'll probably consider your course last for I still don''t know exactly what I part of marketing I wish to focus in....I am film graduate, but also a finance addict. I've been trying to seek what positions would be suitable for a creative(screenwriting) and analytic(who likes to forecast). Any recommendations by any would be so helpful. Cheers and I'll explore your YT channel more.

If a person wants to get a digital marketing job, how's the boss to decide are you fit or not according to what kind of digital marketing certificates you have? Especially, like me, I'm not on marketing major. I learned it by myself. Thank you.😊

Your experience, portfolio, how you communicate your skills and their gut feeling will tell them if you're a good fit or not. :)

Great video! Certainly gives me some food for thought, especially of the free courses I can take. Still need to take the google analytics ones. I started the digital garage ones but didn't finish them at the time. I've completed a few coursera ones and am planning on taking Mark Ritson's Mini MBA in Marketing when the next round starts in April. I love his style. Very good at calling out bullshit in a clever, comical way. He communicates in a simple way and that to me is the core reason I trust him to teach me. I mean, I've already learnt so much from his talks and interviews online so really excited to take the course.

I should check out Mark Ritson's program and his talks too. Thanks for your detailed comment!

@ Please do! he also has a column in marketing week which is who run the courses he does. One course in marketing and also one in brand management. Would be cool to see you in the marketing one in April! - Andy

Does anyone know if having an associates in marketing and a digital marketing cert is just as valuable to companies as a bachelors? I feel like so many companies want a bachelors, but the remainder of my courses are electives now, so I wont be doing many more marketing classes.

Hi Elif, if you had to choose between the DMI Postgraduate certificate and a Msc in Digital Marketing from an online university, which one would you go for?

Hi Lorena, I'd definitely go through reviews and check people's profiles who have completed the DMI one but I'm more closer to that than an Msc.

Thank you for your video~ I am going to study abroad at Geoge Brown College. I wan to study Digital Media Marketing Program (Postgraduate) or STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIP MARKETING PROGRAM (POSTGRADUATE). I am trying to choose one of the two majors. I have to choose one. Can you give me some advice on which major is better for job, career and future in Canada?
3 жыл бұрын
I know both programs (I teach in one of them) and there's no difference when it comes to prospect of finding a job. I'd say equal opportunities.

How hard it is to find a job with diploma in Marketing? Since it’s not specialized it might be hard and usually people prefer to have bachelor.

Hi Elif!! I came across your channel while looking for marketing career suggestions. I must say your videos are really helpful and interesting. I’m a fashion design graduate wanting to make a career in marketing. I really like advertising and marketing in beauty and television industry. So, I’m planning to do MSc International Marketing but I’m still not sure about it. What would you suggest?
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Vaishnavi - it sounds like you have a good plan and have niched down to a certain industry which is great. My opinion towards university degrees is that it's not a must unless you feel it will really make a difference for you.

they do! If you have the relevant experience, there's a lot of companies that won't even ask about your education.
