That's the first time I've heard the Highlander theory but I like it. Or maybe they are early, bungled attempts to create a government suoer soldier. They can survive anything but can still be injured so the process didn't work properly.

I love that younger viewers tend to overthink the jokes about movies like this or feel the need to be worried and/or question stuff (and this is me knowing that at least some of them are as old as I am) when it's just... a gag. There's no other meaning behind it other than visual comedic genius and timeless slapstick humor.

Chris Columbus got his idea for the first Home Alone from Uncle Buck, which is a John Hughes film. I have a feeling that the skeleton shot is a callback to Trains Planes & Automobiles where the same thing happens to both guys (turn into fake skeletons) when they are going between the two semi-trucks. Also the fact that Ally Sheedy shows up as a cameo in the NY airport at the desk. She played the odd girl in The Breakfast Club, another John Hughes film.

On a good day, I'm willing to accept that Harry and Marv could have survived the traps from the first movie, although they would have been in *much* worse shape. The police would have had to take them out on stretchers. But there's no way any human being could have survived the traps from this one! Marv would have been dead after the first brick.

the electric skeleton never gets old 🤣 it's such a cheesy loony tunes thing but it's brilliant. in the first i would say Marv probably got it worse...his injuries were more sadistic; nail to the foot, christmas ornaments on his bare feet... although harry did get a fairly serious third degree burn head injury with the blowtorch.

Marv is indeed taking most of the physical damage, but for Harry the real damage consists in being outsmarted, like when he checked the lamp and the walls for traps and in the moment he didn't expect it he had his head set on fire, just him screaming "He did it!!" sells it 😂😂

What's the name of the anime where certain people were immortal and you could tell by their shadows. Yeah! That's The Sticky Bandits! When this was first released critics complained about it being too cartoony... 🤨 The more cartoony the better! 😂😂😂 They say Culkin at his best, now they should watch "The Good Son" to see him... different.

@@harryrob8221 nobody takes it seriously and it is cartoony. But still it crosses that line for me where enough is enough, mainly because electrocution lasts too long and you can feel director is milking it... That's where my remark about sadism comes from - it's all about comedic timing.
