I started working towards this lifestyle, starting with my closet. When ALL all my clothing fit in a small closet I went one more step by going into the bathroom and wow!, it felt so good to purge stuff I have not ever liked and do not use. then I decided to combine the two, by setting up my bathroom as a bathroom/dressing room. I moved my clothing into the closet in the bathroom. I can shower and dress in one space without disturbing my husband who wakes much later then I do. This works so well for me now and looking towards a future of possibly living in a Tiny House. Thanks for the ideas keep them coming

Just found your channel. Great tips! :) I've been a minimalist for over 8 years now. and I agree... Condiments - ha! My fridge only has ketchup very occasionally, sometimes there is a glass jar of lecso (the jar is reused for home preserves). There is a giant jar of honey, which we buy by weight and we take our glass jar(s) to a seller, so no waste. In that regard this minimalism is no minimalism compared to my mom's approach. The only (and important) difference is that you actually also try to minimize the space taken by stuff, you are not only about reuse, recycle, don't buy unnecessary stuff (which is what my mom is all about: not wasting money). Nevertheless, here are some pieces of advice I found extremely useful here, thank you )

Great tips as always! I find that I rarely ever have more then 10 condiments. I grew up in a home where my mom cooked from scratch so we always just had the very basics and I have totally incorporated that into my cooking. In our home, we only have water and milk, my son is 15 and an athlete so milk is a necessity in our home. I definitely need to get that scanner because the paper in my home is overkill. Can't wait for the next video!

All I need for condiments anymore is fresh lemon juice, ume plum vinegar, pumpkin and sesame seeds, turmeric sour kraut, and a local raw goat cheese. I'm on a Ketogenic diet and have found I don't need or really want any others. The rest of my diet is meat, vegetables, and a little fruit. The fruits and vegetables almost all come from my garden, the rest that I listed is almost all the food items that I buy. But I rotate in other condiment for nutrition and to prevent boredom. For example, nori or anchovies... :)

I love your hair! You look like a movie star. I agree with you that most condiments are deadly to everyone's health. The honey is a wonderful idea for using instead of syrup, jelly and even sugar. That's why your complexion is so pretty. Mayo stays in the refrigerator for years and tastes the same. Why? Because it isn't food - it's just chemicals that would give me a horrible headache. It is the "flavoring" and the "partially hydrogenated oil" that cause muscle spasms. Keep up the good work.

I take the opposite approach to decluttering first, and then organizing. If you organize everything first, then you can see what you have of similar items. For example, you may find you store pens in this drawer, and on that desk, and in that nightstand. By organizing them and putting them all together, you'll see how many you have, what kinds, etc. With that info you can declutter them. Or do you consider that sorting, not organizing?

The less you have in your fridge and freezer the more energy used and money loss to keep it cool. Fix this by filling the empty space. Fill old boxes with plastic bags or other recycled items to fill the empty space in your fridge and freezer space. You can google for mor details :)

Have a few really nice things instead of a lot of mediocre things. High quality lasts longer and so you have to but less. For example if you buy a really nice pair of jeans and take care of them they will last much longer than a pair from Walmart and so in the long run you save money

This is a very good video with lots of good tips. There is just one concern I have. Is there actually any scientific evidence that cleaning substances even natural ones do very little. Evidence as far as I've heard suggests otherwise. for example Essential oils such as orange eucalyptus and peppermint have been tested on 22 types of bacteria plus fungi and evidence showed that they killed the bacteria and fungi. Cleaning with your hands, I'm aware can remove dirt but not germs and bacteria, certainly not all of them and surely not in the long term. ☺
@LauraSomeNumber8 жыл бұрын
"Cleaning" should really always be seen as a term for removing dirt. With germs and bacteria you are going into the realm of disinfecting, we just tend to used cleaning for both things but they are different and I would think she is talking about cleaning here.
@angeladyson73678 жыл бұрын
Hi Laura, thanks for your response. Yes it appears that we. I live in the UK and am English and for the most part over here when I clean, I always disinfect. I don't clean much without a disinfectant. I guess times have changed too because in the UK decades and morr ago people wiuld have just used whatever they had on hand to clean and disinfect but mostly now in this day and age most households I think tend to use disinfectant more than anything when cleaning so it's just a case of getting used to terms from different countries I guess. Thanks for your input. Have a great day.

The bra thing only helps if you have great boobs. If the form does not look great without a bra, it doesn't work. It doesn't work for small boobs because these get unnoticeable without a bra, and it doesn't work for big breast which needs support!I don't have any bra that fits perfectly and is perfectly comfortable, I have to rotate a lot of bras both because different clothes need different bras and because most of them are uncomfortable in different ways.
