I want a cottage/Spanish style home, with garage, 2 baths. Good, safe neighborhood. And, I'd prefer if it were a bit of a fixer upper. And, if it could be near the gulf, if i could see a body of water that isn't mosquito infested, I'd be so happy. So, please find that one for me and I'll see you soon!!

Thank you for replying Jeff! I will give a very rare example of a house with a basement under it. My maternal grandparents lived in Daytona Beach Florida for over 40 years. Every time we would vacation with them at their home, they lived a block and a half from the Atlantic Ocean. Their home had a half basement under it because they could park a car in it. It was more used for storage however. Theirs was a big 2 story house. I kind of figured as much for the greater Mobile area. Your videos are so informative! Again with full respect always! Mark in Iowa.

Hi Jeff! I grew up in the 1960's to 1970 in Mobile. My Dad, Barry Haiman, (passed 12/13/20) was raised there and had the white office building known as the "Haiman" building which was on Airport Boulevard. (It was across the street from a Roadway Inn as it was known then. I have no idea what hotel, if any, is there now. He was very active in Real Estate too with his own company, well known and owned Beth Court, Margie Manor and Patti Manor for rentals. We resided in YesterOaks on Claridge Road. How about doing something about that neighborhood and the history there? I attended what was then known as Julius T. Wrights School for girls and was run by The Boazman Family. I have very fond memories growing up there and many of my childhood friends remained there and put down roots with their own families. Maybe do a segment on the history aspect of Mobile. My dentist was right across from the famous cannon...Dr. Welchel. How long have you lived in Mobile? You said "all your life" but what years are you talking about? I've missed Mobile and went back when my Dad moved back there for awhile with his new wife and younger children in the 80's. (I just visited), but always felt a warm welcome whenever I returned. I've often wondered how my life would have been had I remained there growing up to adulthood. Thanks for the memories. 😁

Beth, Thanks so much for the memories as well. Yes, I have showed several houses on Claridge. That is a very popular area that is seeing a lot of owners flipping their houses, getting crazy high prices. Over $500K many times. Such a huge jump over the last few years. I hope to do a video there soon.

Hello. Do you think that Richelieu is an upcoming area in Mobile, based upon property value?
@livinginmobile2 жыл бұрын
I think it will definitely increase in value, simply because of the location. It’s so convenient to everything.

Great informative video Jeff! One comment I have is that here in Iowa where I live most of us refer to garbage or trash meaning one in the same. One question I have is because of the soil type and water levels underground, how many if any have a partial or full basement under them? Here in the upper Midwest basements are very popular. Just a question that I’m curious to know. Thank you for sharing these very popular videos! Always with full respect! Mark in Iowa.
@livinginmobile2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark, Thanks for writing. There are very few basements like you would have in Iowa. We do, however, have homes that are on a slope that have to have a basement in order for the home to be positioned correctly on the lot. Usually a garage that is under the house, which could also include some living quarters are well. It may have to do with the proximity to the ocean, sea level, etc... but they are very rare.

Hello. I was thinking about Whole Foods in Mobile. Do you think that there are some myths to the presence of Whole Foods in the area?
@livinginmobile2 жыл бұрын
Whole Foods actually just left a couple of months ago, to the disappointment of many residents in Mobile. But, there are two locations of our favorite called fresh market. It’s not the same, but offers a great alternative.

Im from Mobile. Indeed its a beautiful city, great seafood and low cost of living. But the crime rate is too high for it to be such a small city.
@surgeone012 жыл бұрын
Mobile doesn’t even have a high crime rate, especially property crime, Mobile’s property crime rate is only 28/1000. For comparison, Fairhope also has a property crime rate of 28/1000. Huntsville has a property crime rate double Mobile’s at 56/1000
