Top Neighbourhood in Cotonou West Africa

Located in the heart of Cotonou, is the city's oldest urban residential area that has been influenced by a diverse range of cultures, from African to European and Asian.
In this video I want to take you around this neighbourhood called Hey Vive, in the city of Cotonou in Benin republic. By the way this is not an estate. This is actually a central residential building that connects to several other neighbourhoods. Come with me, let's go around so you can get a good feel of what living in Cotonou is like. Largely this is an upper class area but what's unique about this country is the fact that everything is mixed. The average middle class are increasingly moving here.
Maybe you live in an area in Lagos, US, Uk or India where you currently pay 1500 to 2000 dollars per month for a bedroom 2 rent. I want you to take a close look at this area.

Very impressed with the general ambiance of the place. Nice, clean, and very well organized. Compared to Nigeria, the big brother across, this place feels like utopia. Kudos to the government for doing such a tidy job. Question - how safe is the city, and by extension the country. How safe is it for foreigners.

Cotonou is safe. I can ascertain you won't be attacked. Lot of french are now retiring there.

I like this much better than the ones that show the big roads in Cotonou. I find those look sterile and lifeless. These are much prettier.

Yes many educated understand English. Plus you can get things done with a couple of French words you can pick up easily
