Living in Arizona Now

5 жыл бұрын

In this video we review the top cities to live in Northern Arizona. The list includes Flagstaff, Payson, Prescott, Pinetop Lakeside, Page and a few other Northern Arizona communities.
Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. If you are thinking about moving to Arizona feel free to subscribe and check us out on our other channels.

Ryan Cross -- When my husband & I lived in Cottonwood, 1995 - 1999, we explored AZ. And you're right, it doesn't look like Oregon. AZ doesn't allow clear cutting (or at least didn't back then) and Oregon has practically decimated its forests.

This is really great hearing about all these places that I study before moving here. I really had no help, I just had to wing it on my own. I really had no desire to ever leave California in the first place but I sorta was forced out when they started coming down on the dogs. They've always had a lot of rules and I always was able to sort of put up with them oh when they came down on the dog deal, that was it. I found a house on Craigslist in around 2014 in Casa Grande for $10,000. I drove out to see it and it was covered with mold but I was just amazed with all the people I met of every age and race and background how nice they were. Like I said it was like taking a step back in time when people were nice and smiled a lot. It had been years since I saw that.

@@marilynguinnane4663 Oh I'll tell you. Cities have rules and Counties have rules. I worked in LA County but they only allowed 3 either dogs or cats or a combination of. So I moved to Riverside 66 miles away from my job so I could have my dogs and cats in peace. There was a rule in the city of Riverside that you could have as many dogs and cats as you wanted. Riverside County of course was bigger but they had a limit of 4 dogs. Well I was there for 23 years. I had lived in San Diego where you could have six dogs and as many cats as you wanted because they considered cats wild animals. California is about money so in 2010 a microchip company opened in the next city over from me and Riverside decided to put a limit on how many dogs a person could have oh, they changed it to 4 which is like most places but then they added they'd have to have a microchip. Well a few of my dogs had come with microchips but they conjured up volunteers both young and senior citizens to accompany one animal control officer and they would raid whole neighborhoods with their laser guns. They would stand outside the person's house and if they had a fence and if a dog wouldn't bark they would shake the fence they would shake the gate to make the dog bark and then would point the laser gun in the direction of the noise and it would register if the dog had a microchip or not. Then they got to write out a ticket. My groomer who had the voice box is taken out of her dogs so she could be in hiding, asked me what I was going to do. I told her I was going to pray. And pray I did. She said her daughter found out on the internet that without proof of a microchip in your dog you weren't allowed to renew the dog's license and they had the authority to come in your house without a search warrant and take that dog or cat and hold it for ransom until you pay the fine and got the job done. I was considered a rescuer by most people but that meant nothing to them. I memorized the 91st Psalm and recited it all day. I tried desperately to hang on to California because I loved it so much. But in all the 58 counties the only possibility I had was San Bernardino County where you could have nine dogs and as many cats as you wanted. But I thought they would probably change their minds too. Crestline was a possibility but getting out of Crestline because of a fire or earthquake there's only one way down the hill so there's no Freedom there. After I found Maricopa County unincorporated and moved here I read the horror stories of the Rescuers that tried to fight the system. There became no more term Rescuers and we were called Hoarders.

@@maryyoung777 -- Thanks a cool million for telling me all that ! When people refer tol my beloved home state as the People's Republic of CA they're not just talking about all the welfare, then. It's just as easily about totalitarian laws !! My God. And I wouldn't chip my animals, not for anything. I left Sonoma County for Reno in 2018 but there were no such laws in Sonoma County, or I'd have left a lot sooner. You know, I felt stifled in CA for all the damned laws. There's a law for everything! When are Californians going to wake up and send the Democrat Party packing?!! I was asked when I moved to Reno, by a local, "Why did you move here?" "I needed to breathe free air again," I said. (Thanks again).

Our joke here in Bullhead City is: When we want to cool down during the summer we travel to Las Vegas, it will be 5 to 10 degrees cooler. LoL The City of Bullhead is putting their Tax Dollars to work buliding and upgrading the parks, new infrastructure (a second bridge across the Colorado River on the south end of town), very few pot holes, New Fire Station and only a few hours to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Prescott, Flagstaff, San Diego, LA and Yuma. Love it here.

I went three times to go back and see it again and relive some memories in all three times it was closed because it was full. And there is no walk in traffic. So my experience is that if you go to slide rock you might as well prepare to just keep driving.

Correction AZ has the largest continous ponderosa pine Forest that begins in New Mexico. And I have been to Oregon lived there on both sides of the state. The thick forest of the coasts and williamette valley are primarily cedar and fir with some spruce. There are some pine forests in the central and North Eastern portions of oregon but they are not more impressive that Arizonas ponderosa forest. And oregon contains Portland soooo there's that.

Thanks for opening up the already congested Beeline highway to Payson, Pine and Strawberry!. Every weekend the flatlanders come up here in droves now, i don`t mind it so much if they would leave their "the rules don`t apply to me attitude" and how inconsiderate, rude, and selfish attitudes and show some respect to our forests and campsites!. Take out your trash when you leave and put out your camp fires PROPERLY when you leave! Locals clean up the area every weekend when you leave just so you, can come back the following weekend and do it all again.

Payson is nice. On the small side but not too small. However Payson is not in Northern Arizona. It is North of Phoenix, but it's close to the exact center of the state. The center of the state is a bit West of Strawberry. Prescott is to the West of center. Showlow is to the East of center.

I have property in Sun Valley near Holbrook. 2 builders plots, side by side. Drove Pheonix to Sun Valley through Sholow, nice town. Great property in Sun Valley You can make a water recycling unit instead of a septic and as long as you remove the axle off an RV that I plan to get out of insurance auctions Holbrook will run utilities to you for free. So you get a place to live for under $10,000.
