I appreciate learning that the combination of rose, violet, and a beeswax ingredient makes a lipstick scent. Perfumology's "L'ima" reminds me of a certain lotion. I enjoyed Sarah's guest appearance.

Lovely category. My own choices for this would be: Goutal Etoile d’une nuit, Shalimar Parfum Initial, Chloe Love Chloe, Wesker Deviant, Louboutin Loubirouge and I feel that Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille also has a woody facet reminding me of khol pencils. Edit: L’ange noir was really nice and well done for the video and the lovely friend.

I've got Misia which is beautiful, but definitely check out Nuee Bleu from Maison Violet. I get beautiful lipstick nuances from it. It's next on my wish list. 💄

Narciso Rouge rose-iris-violet lipsticky scent and, as it's being discontinued, can be found for a great deal. The JHAG one wasn't makeup-y enough on me, the raspberry came through sharp on my skin. Narciso Rouge is what I had hoped it would smell like ❤

Yes I’m a fan of the violet and Iris notes. I don’t get lipstick maybe because I don’t wear lipstick or the modern lipstick doesn’t smell like that anymore? In any case the Dior ones sounds interesting and I’d love to get my nose on those. Would you consider PDM Athalia lipsticky?

Another one I get some makeup smell from that doesn't have violet is Dior Feve Delicieuse, but maybe because I think it really reminds me of my mother's leather handbag back in the 1970s that had cherry lifesavers and fancy lipsticks in it. Of course there's Guerlain Meteorites for makeup scent, but it's discontinued.

@@mariamendoza95 If you are into vintage kind of powders definitely would recommend Guerlain Après l'Ondée! It's a very powdery violet and iris scent. I love it! Also for newer one's I like Guerlain L'Instant Magic. Definitely try before you buy, though.

I think Guerlain has a lot of contribution to the persistence of the idea of a makeup smell as all of their powders have a distinct violet fragrance added. Particularly, my association is to their meteorites pearls.

My favorite genre of fragrance. I would add vtg Paris by YSL (amazing violet + rose) and Ombre Rose to this list. Teint de Neige is one of my favorites. Can't wait to sample Leopard by Sarah Baker and she has definitely pushed me over the edge to try Angel's Dust as well (I've been meaning to try it.)

As soon as you began the video I was trying to remember which perfume you had mentioned reminded you of your mothers leather purse with her lipstick in it. That description just throws me back to being 8yrs old and trying to sneak my moms lipstick and blush. I remember vividly smelling her open her purse at church while she would take out her lipstick and reapply it after talking with her friends at the coffee social.
