couple points Silver tempest booster boxes were actually not overprinted at all, we are currently getting a new wave which is positive looking at older sets, it's always dangerous looking at PSA10 values to base your judgement off. the chances of pulling the top cards are pretty small to begin with and than mutiply those odds with the fact that the card isn't always a PSA10 and your chances are pretty slim. Also the video is titled "Top cards", so i assume he's talking about buying the packs to open them in an attempt to get the chase card which is so not worth it. buying 1 pack of dragon frontiers and your odds are so low that it's basically not worth it, buy a BB which is like 10k+ and your chances of pulling the charizard are still really low and your not guaranteed a PSA10! for a lot of people who don't have unlimited funds like yourself buying 1 pack at $400, best advice to give keep it sealed

@@XstorX16 For 30 thousand dollars you should just buy a base set booster box which I have seen for 14 thousand dollars. If you can buy Skyridge products, I would do that as well.

I came across this video a couple days ago and it made me go through my childhood stuff and dig up my Pokemon cards from back when I was in 7th grade. OMG I did not know that I had expensive cards still with me that are in good condition.. my holographic Mewtwo, Hitmonchan, Alakazam I did not know was worth a lot of money.

For anyone new to collecting. Cracking packs for some of these cards is not the way to go. You will most likely be losing tons of money buying booster boxes. Find raw mint copies and grade yourself. You'll thank your wallet in the long term. 👍

I used to collect when the VERY FIRST sets were released, but now after getting back into it, I honestly don't know where to begin. I know buying is better but, even when buying, I've heard stories on reddit of people buying "Near Mint" from TGC for example and then the condition isn't so great...plus I wouldn't really know which cards to buy individually? Also, there's just something really exciting about buying like 10 booster packs and then finding a rare holo unexpected :D Where do you find the raw mint copies?

@@themurphy1245 my comment was to help save other collectors money more than anything. Based on my experiences. Having rotten luck buying product getting rubbish pulls does not feel good and gets old pretty quick. All the while you could have bought that card you wanted for the fraction of a price makes more sense especially in this financial climate. However, I do agree to buy a small amount of product to open every now and then as the chase is equally as fun. Buying cards that you personally like with the hope of it's value retaining or increasing is no bad thing and shouldn't be frowned upon.

@@yugiboy-uk680 yes but someone new to collecting would still start from 0, like me. The right method for me is starting by buying packs (possibily pre-order them) open a few of them and then complete the missing single cards by sniping them on ebay, etc. What you said isn’t the thing I’m referring to. I was talking about people who buys packs and boosters only to keep them sealed hoping to scalp after a few years, with 0 interest at all in pokemon and the franchise.

15 years ago i bought a pack of ex dragon frontiers from a toys r us and pulled a gold star charizard from the pack. I put it into a binder full of pokemon cards and left it in there. Cant believe how much the card is worth now.

@@tommieboi707 best thing to do is get educated in what you have. Ive been sending my cards to psa for grading since 2017 and imo thats the best way to know the true value of the card. once its graded its protected and easier to sell if you want to.

Great video! I invested and bought a few days ago a PSA 10 Vmax Shiny Charizard and a PSA 10 Base set Celebration Charizard. English Sets/cards printed, after the Boom of 2021 are likely never going to appreciate over time. These will be considered the "junk wax" Baseball Cards of the 80's/90's. Hyped and over printed.

@@1stedition486 no one is expecting them to be worth 100 000 in 5 years, but I would hardly say they will be junk, they will gain value just not like the first set. Also baseball is just an American thing, Pokemon is word wide, the US is not the center of the world.

God packs are in the US version. The only difference is you only get one evolution full art instead of 2 like the Japanese version.

That’s cool crazy I was waiting in line at the grocery store and saw some Pokémon cards that were up for sale. Mind you I haven’t paid attention to the details of what the cards can actually hold in value. There were about 20 single booster packs and I just pulled one randomly and went home. Had my little brother open it and he pulled the Giratina V in perfect condition. I thought wow what a nice looking card let me send a photo to my cousin and he legit told me what it could be worth at a PSA 10. Seeing this video confirms the worth on the card. Totally crazy and a cool way for me and my brother to get back into buying Pokémon cards ( I totally understand that’s a rare card and nothing like this might ever happen again lol 😂).
