Wish he or some one to remake it it feels unfinished. Second half just dies down. It deserves to be longer and repeated at least once the main theme.

@@chefkawasaki4792 Yeah i know this edit and like it alot But it could be longer still. What can i say, his tunes are realy addictive you just don't want them to end. 8 to 10 minutes would be ideal. It may sound long but i feel like it fits tracking modules really well.

A funny thing about Purple Motion's Second Reality track being the most popular track is that it's also one of the first S3Ms ever made, composed before Future Crew had released Scream Tracker 3 to the public.

It's fascinating looking back at this having experienced it first time around. There's so much tracker format music that's been written, and I guess it's a music type which has *mostly* died out nowadays. But a huge treasure trove still exists from back then

Have you featured Autumn Depressions ever? It's my favorite! You need to listen to it for a bit, it's long and builds up steadily. After running into this video I searched for several hours for the songs as I forgot what it was called. So happy I found it.

How were the samples in Space Debris made, I found the SYNBRASS sample renamed to SYNBRAS2 in the song Big Jim-Cold Fear and without the sawtooth thingy, and i think some of the drums are also in both songs.
@trackermusicforever2 жыл бұрын
Well, at first I thought they sound quite similar to some of the classic st-xx sample packs from the early Amiga protracker days. But they're not labelled the same way, and they seem to be Captain's original samples, because they all sound fairly consistent and are labelled consistently with each other. I would say the synth sounds are all from a late '80s DCO analog synth like the Roland alpha-Juno 2 which I know some of the early trackers used for samples. For the drum machine sounds, the snare sounds like one of the Roland D-70 snare samples I have, so possibly that or another late '80s or early 90s drum machine.

@Dr.Quarex He did later become a professional musician, but he was still 17 when he wrote Space Debris.
@DMStern Жыл бұрын
Captain has written an essay on how the track was made, you can find it on his personal website by searching "captain space debris" or his name (Markus Kaarlonen). There he says that he sampled his own Roland D-5 synth and a Roland R-8 drum machine he had access to, but also that many samples were taken from the sample packs mentioned earlier.

I wish you wouldn't talk over the music even though I think you did a good job describing it. This could be the type of thing people want to listen to repeatedly and your video could be the only archival on KZbin for some of these songs.

That’s a good idea to make a playlist of these songs with no talking, I’ll try to do that. I wanted to try doing some commentary on this video. Thanks for watching

Second Reality tune is fantastic, but order amongst the cult music tracks depends on where are you comming from. That track very much resembles music by Laxity from Amiga demo Desert Dream. And the demo itself also seems somewhat infulenced by DD which is very likely given that Second Reality was released a half year later. No need to state that I prefer the original ones :)
