I really wish there would have been "samples" of the sounds that accompany the issues. That would greatly benefit diagnosing the issue for a lot of people.

Agreed. Mine is popping like there is metal in the microwave. I have cleaned the microwave thoroughly multiple times to make sure there is no metal.

Ha I have been on Google for an hour trying to find this. I'd even take an article that tried spelling out the noise.

Mine is buzzing very loudly and keeps kicking the stove vent blower on. It sounds like a Fricken 60hrz lawn mower but there's no arching or sparking seen from the inside of the widow. It's just all happening near the transformer and magnetron.

Reference @ 00:31 I believe this testing is incomplete. Testing continuity and resistivity are correct across terminals looks right, I've seen many techs advise to check internal shorting of the Mag itself by testing continuity between Mag terminals and the Mag house. From what I've researched it should be OPEN on both Mag terminals to Mag housing. Please respond RepairClinic, it this correct? If the terminals to housing show continuity is the Mag bad and should be replaced even thought ohm resistivity across the terminals shows good? If my research concerning terminals to housing continuity should be open is correct, it's is time to update this video to reflect correct testing procedure. Thanks

They will not answer because they make money selling parts, they will be happy if you buy enough parts to built three microwave ovens. 😵

It's the friggin door! It is so loud, I do think it will wake up the entire house, and why must it beep (so loud) with every button? Try to warm up a 3am snack and not wake the babies.... Seriously, I'm so pissed right now!

My 10 year old over the range started making loud popping noises so went to Lowes and purchased a new one on sale for $200. Problem solved.

My microwave has a relatable, but slightly different problem. Although I see no arching problems going on inside the anti radiant window, there's arching going on rather inside. My Frigidaire microwave is so old, it has the older cursive logo that Frigidaire use to do, now they make their logos with their As replaced with triangles funny enough. But my microwave has always been kind of quiet, and the buzzing wasn't too loud. The loudest parts of the microwave mainly were the motors, and even they were quiet. But then all of the sudden out of nowhere, it started buzzing VERY loudly and it kept on stopping itself and then kicking on the vent blower used for the stove. The buzzing may I remind you isn't anything like turn it on, wait a few seconds and then arching sounds, it happens almost instantly the moment after you turn the microwave on. And then you hear arching on the inside and it doesn't trip the breaker, but it trips itself and kicks the blower on. But you don't see any arching or sparking on the inside lighting up like the 4th of July in here, it sounds like it's all happening inside. Like a faulty transformer or magnetron. Our microwave acted up in the past when dirty inside, but NEVER has it done this before. I thought it could've been a faulty diode or transformer, but when I heard about the magnetron acting up how it can in the video, my worry is our microwave is toast! Has anybody had this happen before? Is it fixable or will it be needing new parts? We recently had our fridge go out on us and spent alot of money on a new one and that wasn't too long ago. Thank God we have a mini microwave downstairs with another fridge next to it because we're not sure when we'll be able to get a new microwave for the upstairs kitchen which sucks. That's why I wanted to see if anybody knows how to diagnose this problem?

Microwave oven doors have microswitches. These microswitches sense if the door is open or closed. They are in part mechanical and will fail. If all else tests functional, the door microswitches may be the culprit.

all microwaves are noisy because people stopped progressing this technology for whatever reason
@new-knowledge80404 жыл бұрын
The four feet on my oven are a stiff plastic, rather than be a somewhat soft rubber, and that stiff plastic in turn transfers noise to the kitchen counter, and that turns the kitchen cabinet below it into a damn speaker. So I placed a sheet of soft rubber shelf liner onto the counter, then an old sheet of glass on top of that, then four square pieces of the same rubber shelf liner on top of the glass just below the four feet of the oven. The four small patches below the feet keep the oven from sliding off the glass, and the sheet of rubber liner beneath the sheet of glass then limits some of the noise from transferring from the oven on over to the kitchen counter. Anyhow, it's much better now.

It doesn't help that microwaves in general seem to be designed to be as noisy as physically possible, from the door to the beeping.

Just buy a new one, chances are it's outdated anyway, and they're what, $50? Not worth your time to troubleshoot and then buy parts with shipping, wasting your time to install, all for it not to fix it. Seriously, you're welcome.
@RobertPlattBell Жыл бұрын
The built-in kind can be $200 and up ($99 a few years ago, thank you inflation!) but a new Magnatron is $250. Design life on appliances is 15 years. So if yours is over 15 years old, time to cash it in!
