Vincent Price was for sure a humble person. I have a hand written Postcard he sent to me from Beverly Hills, to my London Residence , in London , in the mid 70s. He had even made the card himself, out of a thickish piece of paper. I had written to him via BBC Telivision, requesting that he narrate a 5 min poem of mine at a Solo Concert I had booked for myself at the Wigmore Hall, London. I would accompany him on flute. He regretted he would not be able to attend,, but offered me success with my Concert.

@@bobdownes162 Hello Bob, I bought your LP Electric City the day it came out. I had seen you at (I think) the BBC Playhouse Studio in a Jazz Club broadcast with Open Music. I always remember my surprise when I heard your tune "Keep off the Grass" later used on one of those early evening ITV panel games called "Don't Say A Word", because I don't think you got a credit in the end titles. I hope you are well and happy - and thanks for the music O.M. was one of the most original bands of the late 60s/early 70s.

I have read that Vincent Price was not available for the long filming schedule for the episode. Columbo episodes were notorious for taking ages to film, up to three months to get one episode done, which led NBC to have a blazing row with Peter Falk once. So Vincent agreed to do all of his scenes in one filming day. So NBC got their big name, and only for one day's work, hence a lower pay check

@@ajs41 No problem. Vincent was advised not to commit to being the key murderer, as he would likely have to spend almost three months filming. He could have made two movies for a much larger salary in that space of time. Peter Falk took ages to film the episodes. Days went by with very little filmed. He was a perfectionist.

I'm nearly certain it's clipped from a scene in the episode "Strange Bedfellows" when Columbo is in Graham McVeigh's backyard and as Graham is about to go back in the house, Columbo says "Just one more thing" and Graham says "no Lieutenant there is no just one more thing". It does, indeed sound slightly sped up but I'm pretty sure that's where it was clipped from.

Pfos, I suspect lawyers are involved. No permission to use the famous catch-phrase being uttered by Falk in this manner. So they had to get a sound-alike and weren't entirely successful OR had to be just different enough to keep the lawyers at bay.
