In a related development, President Bola Tinubu, the US Government and some other politicians have condemned the suicide bombing attacks that killed at least 18 people in some parts of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The President, in a statement released by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, said the attacks were a clear manifestation of the military onslaught against the terrorists and “the success achieved in degrading their capacity to launch offensives and the success achieved in degrading their capacity to launch offensives.”
The US Mission in Nigeria has also described the bomb attacks as “acts of violence and a cruel disregard for human life.”

An attack, carried out by a woman with a child strapped to her back that targets a wedding ceremony that was probably arranged and perhaps involved more than one couple seems like someone or a group of people are probably trying to make a statement. That someone is more than likely Boko Haram as indicated, or maybe it was a group of aggrieved single mothers whose own forced arranged marriages did not end well. Security apparatus needs to enlarge their focus and the government needs to educate these young women rather than pushing them into forced arranged marriages. Hopelessness and desperation affecting otherwise able bodied young women in this day and age can lead to all sorts of anti-social behaviors that can result in dire consequences. This is probably why no terrorist organization has taken credit for the attack.
