bought a brand ne zx600 ninja in 1985 first year, it set the standard for 600 sport bikes from that day forward. have owned 3 zx6's f different yrs last was 03 had 130 hp and would fly. all bullet proof bikes with basic oil changes and valve adjustments. put 60k miles on 85 600 last one was at 50k when sold never had one part failure over all 4 models. Even the clutches lasted and they got some hard launches and saw redline many times every ride. Best 600s ever made bar none.

My friends Stock 2007 R6 does 274 Kmh. Even the newer R6's can't get that top end speed any more. It really surprised me that the ZX-6R falls way short of this in its stock form.

Ain’t no R6 that will do 170 mph. That’s an outright lie. You would have to to get that kind of mph. You might possibly be able to hit 170 mph on a 750 but still doubtful about that

@TheQuirby According to the speedo (which is optimistic for sure) I also did 274 on my brothers '03 R6 in textile clothing and my eyes slightly above the windscreen, because it's almost non see through. So maybe not a lie, but very unlikely to be the whole truth if you check with a GPS

I have a four, after 230 I need an airplane runway to achieve more. I am sure that the six picks them up in an instant, if you look at comparisons with the old six, it has a higher maximum speed, but it picks it up much slower, you can play with the gear ratios if you wish In addition, there is information that after tuning and flashing it is capable of reach above 265

This is in restricted format, unrestricted which is for most markets and definitely what we get for the Asian market (not the US) they have a higher redline and 128hp at the engine and a GPS top speed of 270kph.

They working on it, they're slowed it down to match the regulation. If they don't want to do that. Zx6r will ended like R6, discontinued.

The new one is better in track. 2wheeldynowork already did experiment on the new zx6r. They agreed that the new zx6 is faster inside track compared to the old zx6. The 600 class were supposed to have strong torque and mid power. Not top end. If u want top end power get the 1000. 600 bikes beat 1000cc usually inside corner and exit corner. Kawasaki improve the torque and mid power of the new zx6 but decrease a bit top end power.
