Good tips for the trailers, I've been using mostly large grubs and doing well. I still have a half dozen Roland Martin 1/2 oz spinnerbaits that are my go-to's. I changed the skirts a few times and they are my top producers.

Great and informative videos, keep up the good work. My favorite spinner bait for years has been the booyah counterstrike in 3/8oz. It seemed that the blades spinning opposite of each other created a different vibration that caught more fish and won me lots of money in local tournaments. Sadly the magic seems to have worn off in recent years. I have switched to a 3/8 and 1/2oz war eagle this year and have had good success so far. I am particularly fond of the one you showed with the orange kicker blade. I also powder coat some kicker blades a true red with some good success as well. FYI replace the chartreuse and white skirt with a white or silver/translucent skirt in clearer water on KY Lake for some small jaw fun. They love a touch of orange for some reason on that lake.

A little late to the reply, but love all of the videos! Thanks for doing and please keep em going. In order my favorite spinnerbaits, next to homemade ones, are the Bango Blade, Picasso's thinner wire stuff, Stanley's tapered wire(I think Vibrashaft), Santone Got 5, and War Eagle. Also love the Hildebrandt Snagless Sally. Works great for those times between a chatterbait or spinnerbait and whenever fish are pressured by either of those 2.

War eagle and lucky strike spinnerbaits are my favorite. Really excited about the new Terminator spinnerbaits. I like to double-up skirts in stained water as opposed to using a trailer. Seems to give it alot of bulk without making the bait rise as fast as a paddle tail. Moderate fast medium heavy rod 14-20lb mono.

Great Video Brad!!! I live on Cumberland which arguably is one of the best spinnerbait lakes in the country and needless to say I throw one a lot. Around here a solid pink double willow spinnerbait will absolutely wreck some big smallmouth. Largemouth and spots I’ll usually throw a 3/4 white or shad color dbl willow. Doesn’t matter if the water is 45 or 85 they’ll bite a spinnerbait.
@BradleyHallmanFishing4 жыл бұрын
That’s a fact! One of the best blade lakes I have seen outside of Oklahoma. I would have made a stronger run at Upshaw last fall if that cold front had not killed the backs of those creeks y’all have. There’s some dandy fish in that place!
@derrickwestfall20024 жыл бұрын
Bradley Hallman that weather on day 2 was something out of a horror film. I’ve never seen the temperature drop that much that fast. It was about 30ft low then, now it’s about 30ft high and about the same color as a Wendy’s milkshake. What were your main areas during that tournament?
@BradleyHallmanFishing4 жыл бұрын
Derrick Westfall Fishing Creek..... I was around the top 10 after day one but just couldn’t hang on! I knew not to go back. If I had it to do over I would have started about that bridge going down the river and thrown a spinnerbait on rocks all the way down till I ran out of time. Deeper water would have held its temps better than the back of a creek. I knew it too. Still went back. Only a couple of guys made the last day out of there.
@slimjimmy2294 жыл бұрын
I know I'm a little late to the game here but... I agree with the pink spinner at Cland. I've learned that you can milk run your areas with a white spinner bait, pink split tail trailer, white willow main blade and a pink colorado kicker. Something they don't see much of. I just started fishing Cland last spring and was looking forward to tournaments this year... oh well always next year.
@TheNikonic4 жыл бұрын
Do you trim the skirts to the hook bend? War Eagles seem to have a super long skirt section. I reckon that would interfere with the action of a paddletail, craw etc?

There is not a bass out there that i can not land with 15lb line. i used to only use 6lb floro for 20 years recently switched to 8lb mono but my wife uses 10lb mono or floro depending on where we are going and time of year, but im always trying to use a lite as line as possible and with that being said i still land 80 percent of my really big bites,lol. Dude your your spot on. I do put a trailer hook on at all times. It helps way more than it hurts for me. Try haybusa trailer hooks they wont rust in size #3. 17 to 20 on the line is a must as you said. Great show man.

Dude you read my mind!!!! I didn’t even realize I left that out till the next day while editing. I’m a Hayabusa #2 guy myself. Your dead on track those things are bad to the bone.
@jonzolman53124 жыл бұрын
Agree with the Hayabusa trailer. Those little rubber stops they provide allow you to put trailer hook on over top of swimbait trailer and dont alter the action. Keeps the hook upright so snags minimally yet breaks free when you hook a fish. Accent builds nice Spinnerbait with light wire. Gladly sacrifice the durability for the thump of a fine wire.

Great video. That 1/2oz spinnerbait with the orange has been our go to in early spring and stained water at my home water. We have floods every spring and the fish get deep in the flooded timber. Last couple of years I have been trying the bladed jig in same conditions. Haven’t done as well with the bladed jig but didn’t know if it was the fish or the fisherman. Do you feel the spinnerbait out performs the bladed jig in the early spring around flooded wood? If I could find a bladed jig with the contrasting colors would my catch rate go back up? (I use a black bladed jig with a black trailer).
