One of the funniest thing about Yugioh is the cutest little archetypes can take down the daunting amount of dragons, demons, forces of natures, and many more kinds of monsters, just by having good effects. We want to find the archetypes the embody the cute aesthetic the best, while still being viable options to take down the meta. Judgment Meter and KuBunnie join me for this one.

Fluffals/frightfurs are one of my favorite archetypes. And I totally agree, they're totally cute. Funny thing for me is I just got done with my first OTS with my Mikanko deck. Didn't win but it segways into this topic. Even when you splash in other big and scary or cool looking monsters with more cute ones it ends up making cute or fun ideas for them. Example for me was my Mikanko and Flame Swordsmen deck. It synergises with the equip aspect to the Mikanko's, especially Ha-Re and you can think of it as if the Mikanko girls can't do it alone because your opponent is countering you by not having a monster to run into, you have a back up of warriors who protect the girls during their training. That or have Kaiju's supporting them as summons to fight and contain or have the girls transform into mecha when you use them to turn into the XYZ Armored series of cards, with Dark Lancer even working with Mikanko's equip gameplay style since his effect activates based on your monsters getting an equip of some kind. Then you have stuff like Mellfy's into Zeus, which is even referenced in the Chronicel's shorts. Going from Melffy's short into Zeus like in the card game, with peopoe drawing them or memeing the Melffy's are piloting Zeus or he's Melffy Daddy to contrast Melffy Mommy whose backing up his kids when they need to beat up the bad guys. Even the current meta deck of the Fire Kings/Snake Eyes or Snake Eyes/Rescue Ace has cute concepts like art of Diabellstar with a firefighter hat or Promethean Princess holding Ponix in her hands with a happy smile. Or some meme images of the Dragon Maid girls given guns, Laundry looking really cute holding her gun or the Japanese memes with her and Eldlitch. Dragon Maid with Buster Bladers whole arc with what he goes through with Welp where in the end he takes in other dragons and have them work at a house for a home as the mastwr of the places as he goes of galavanting could even be a cute story. Can I also say it is insane that Konami has been sitting on a literal goldmine of marketable merch/media with all these different archetypes and such that they just... DIDN'T USE till recently? We only just started getting Archetype focused manga with Sky Strikers and now Magistus. Kitchen Dragon Maid is getting a figure along with Ash, they are starting to make more plushies removed from the original anime archetypes. Even Rush Duels have completely different archetypes original to it like the Dice Key archetype where the name is a pun on the Japanese word Daisuki for "I love you". With a similar art style to Panty and Stocking. The art notes and sketches that provide lore that get shown really show just how much stuff Konami could make and in turn make mad money in return. Even in the more serious archetypes they also have marketable characters with in for cute or cool. Gold Pride with Captain Carrie and Rollerballer, Carrie having a easy love story with Leon you could do. Vanquish Soul having Mad Love and Pluton being fun and wacky with Pluton being the show art for "Continue?" as his more.defeated goop form while Mad Love is the decks weird and funny setup charcter with stuff like Pantera having her little hair twirl in Stake Your Soul shows the little character details they add to characters. Albaz and Ecclessia having their little moments and so on. Charmers as well is an OG cute girls doing magic (plus Dharc) who took years to get there own true deck to call there own or playstyle and staple of counter or monotype decks with the Links. It is insane it took this long for Konami to even think to market stuff like this in general honestly. This is just scratching the surface to.

I'm a casual player who made a Melffy Ojama deck and I headcanon the Ojama's trying their best to look cool and defend the Melffy in a big brother kinda way but always bumbling through it. But the Melffy just really value and look up to them and think they're cool no matter what they do. Which in turn for me have made both decks even more adorable.

It's kind of fitting honestly that Laundry isn't actually all that useful in dragonmaid decks themselves. Functionally she's just kind of redundant and worse than parlor or kitchen who let you actively pick what you want to send to the graveyard. However flavor wise that shows how she's more clumsy and inexperienced than the others, since she'll potentially dump your staples

At least is consistent with her design, instead of doing her work properly as parlor and kitchen, she's so clumsy that she accidentally "drops" 3 of your cards into the gy, as she does with the laundry in her artwork, then, trying to fix her mistake, uses all her power (transforms into her dragon form) and returns a card to the deck.

22:53 I think the Snake Eyes cards are intended to be the next spotlight cards, with Poplar as the cute one. The archetype is very meta popular right now (at least in Master Duel), and Diabellstar and Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon have Dark Magician and Blue Eyes stats (and "eyes dragon" naming scheme, in the case of the latter).

I find the Crystal Beasts to be heliodorable, myself; especially Ruby Carbuncle. They may still be realistic anime-fied animals; with the exception of Carbuncle, Pegasus, and Dragon obviously being mythical creatures and not "real" animals; but I still love them all. I love animals in gemerald, and being a huge mythology nerd, of quartz that includes mythical animals. They're just all lovely and majestic in their own ways. And I couldn't resist making some gem puns in the writing of this comment to fit the archetype, lol. As for the Fluffals, of course one could have totally made a "Lions and tigers and bears, oh my," joke in that entry since they also have a tiger in their lineup, but I suppose it is overdone, lol.

I made several of these decks because they were cute. The first time i saw Madloche Cruffsant, i built the deck before i even knew what the deck did. Fluffals were my first deck, but it was less because of the fluffals and more because of what they turn into. When I built my beast deck (before Melffys) it was because I saw Baby Racoon Ponpoko. I built Ghostricks to, but it was because I liked their "Peek-a-boo" gimmick. And Prank-kids reminded me of a cross between Steven Universe, Powerpuff Girls, and Cuphead

Well, if Dragon Maids are on the table, I'm sure the Magician Girls based on fruit pies could be nominated for a follow-up. I guess depending on how you look at it, Dustons could be considered "ugly-cute" - it's how some people describe things like pugs, for example. Also, the Dustons were used as a pattern for a bedsheet or blanket or something in Ojama Pajama. I'm sure that counts for... something. The Frog archetype is pretty cutesy, I guess. Ronintoadin and Mochi Frog (I refuse to call it "Toadally Awesome") seem to fit, even if D3S frog is kind of a miss, and Flip Flop Frog is... horrifying. Also, how did this list get made without the Penguin archetype? Just look at Penguin Brave. It's a bunch of silly penguins in costumes. I guess they probably have the skills that go with the costumes, but they look like a bunch of penguins playing dress-up.

I don’t very much like the TCG names of the big dragonmaids. I miss their OCG names, where they had a theme of German words based on their attributes. Luft (air), Flamme (flame), Fluss (river), Erde (earth), and Strahl (ray (of light)). I thought that was a neat theme.

I hesitated to nominate rikka because I considered them more "beautiful" and "elegant" than "cute", but I'm glad they made it to the list, I love the archetype. I enjoy to flex my royal rare konkon and teardrop on md from time to time, lol.
