I feel that Fortune Lady Every was made because Dark Signer Carly was coming to Duel Links at the time, and that they also printed the Fortune Fairies because they were also bringing in regular Carly into Duel LInks as well. Every's a cool card though, and having a non-targeting banish effect is pretty nice

Someone in the Yu-Gi-Oh! creative department has a weird fascination with Gyakutenno Megami and made Daigyakutenno Megami an extremely awkward signature card of Yuo Goha in Yu-Gi-Oh SEVENS that he literally just tosses onto the field so it can get blown up and then immediately switch to his Fusion cards. The card is so random in Yuo's deck standing with his creepy circus-themed monsters that it looks visibly confused every time he summons it.

the weirdest part was that it is featured in the 2° opening almost to the point of making her look like Yuou's ace monster.... even though it isn't even needed for his fusion summons. and as far as we know, is only in his deck because, he considers her his favorite card

Actuallly, the Mystical Elf retrain pulls of the old, pre-Advanced Yugioh games like 'Reshef of Destruction' where Attributes and Types played a role in battle rather then just stats and effects, and some vanilla monsters had effects. Mystical Elf's effect was exactly as it was in the anime, once a turn you could activate it to give BEWD a power boost, although.

Ah yes, the niche effect it had in DDS to buff Blue-Eyes

The biggest thing that bugs me with the Mystical Elf retrain is that: You can't give Attack Points! The cancel effect is okay and the summon effect during the battle phase is good with a large beat stick Normal Monster but why not allow her to transfer or buff the monster that she summons?!

The worse thing about her is her rebirth in Rush Duels. You have her normal self which is now classified as Legend, so you can only have 1 copy of this card and then there's her weird Japanese disco self which is reclassed as Aqua-type and has 0 defense. What was they thinking man?

@@petertilton7004 The disco ones are Aqua-types because they're a big reference to the "Bubble Era" of the Japanese economy in the 80's (The character who plays them is older than she looks, so her deck is themed around a sort of "Lost glory days of youth" for the first go-around), with the 0 defense being a joke about the eventual collapse of that bubble, and the partying lifestyles of people at the time, particularly the life and troubles of a Japanese office lady at the time Notably, these themes are kept even when she switches to Dark instead of Light (Commentary on crime/prison conditions at the time), and when she switches to Fire/Water (Focused on the types of cooking that were popular at the time, particularly new foods from abroad especially), all focused on 0 defense Aqua versions of older cards in general to keep up the "Bursting of the Bubble Era" theming

They even added onto it when Sangan got unbanned (with Mistake (which also explains why Tardy Orc was late to Tour Bus to the Underworld, he was at the wrong stop while Sangan got on the wrong bus), Shared Ride, Mistaken Arrest and Mistaken Accusation) as Sangan getting banned was part of the story (Tour Bus To Forbidden Realms).

Gyakutenno Megami actually had a retrain specific to the Duelist of the Roses PS2 game, it was called Empress Judge and i believe had 2200 ATK. Seiyaryu was also unlockable in that game through entering a code, so i am very familiar with it.

For what its worth, that's really good artwork for Giltia the D. Knight. Also, if for whatever reason I need a searcher for Jinzo (assuming Jinzo is even good that format), it works well for what it is and doesn't waste a normal summon that can be spent on summoning Jinzo. The only question though is "when was the last time we've ever had a trap-heavy meta?" Hell, Jinzo even gets shut down if Skill Drain is already active on board.

All four of which he summoned on the same turn by using Rescue cat, then using monster reborn on Rescue Cat. Also he used Big March of Animals and Morphing Jar was the victim of the Kitten's Wind-Up effect so it wouldn't be fliptivated.

I might can explain the Mystical Elf retrain synergizing with Blue Eyes. In the Gameboy Color game, Forbidden Memories (I think that's what it's called), Mystical Elf has a special effect that boosts the attack of Blue Eyes by 500. I feel like they originally intended for Mystical Elf to be a Kaiba card or maybe it was meant to be foreshadowing for Keisara, but I think it's more to do with the GBC game. Edit: now that I think about it, the game may have been called Dark Duel Stories instead.

What it always makes me think of is the effect they gave to Mystical Elf in DotR. To summarize: when she flips face-up, all light monsters you control gain 800 attack and defense, with this being a reference to when Yugi used her to power up Blue Eyes White Dragon in the anime, since Blue Eyes is a light monster and got attack equal to the attack points of Mystical Elf

Giltia is probably among my favorites of Jounouchi's (Joey's) warriors, and one of the few that carried over from his Duelist Kingdom deck to Battle City deck in the original manga. And he actually used it multiple times or attempted to use it multiple times throughout the manga unfortunately the times he tries to use he often messes up like in the duel with Ryota/Mako when he summons it but realizes he forgot to remove the parasite paracide monster that Haga/Weevil had put in his deck when summoned itself when drawn and turned Giltia in an insect before it was destroyed by Torrential Tribute. And some people may wonder why the Giltia retrain doesn't include things like insect Queen or Fortress Whale but although Jonouchi/Joey also won "Insect Queen" and "Fortress Whale" in Ante Duels he never used either of them in the manga.

Starry Knight Rayel need an errata in the TCG to specify its effect works on Seiyaryu. Most of the rest of the support has effects that can also substitute a level 7 light dragon and one that can just substitute light monsters in general.
