Knots Landing went off the air the year I turned 11 and I can't recall having heard of the show prior to the final season when I started to watch it with my mom. I wish the complete series had been released on DVD or the show was available streaming.

I used to LOVE Knots Landing! It is one of my top 2 or 3 favorite shows of all time and the character, "Abby", is my #1 favorite TV character of all time. I loved her so much. I remember all of her story lines. She was stunningly beautiful and incredibly smart and powerful.......the master manipulator. Phoenix Rises was one of my favorite episodes.

I loved the show best during the first couple of seasons, honestly. They were just normal people in the neighborhood wearing sweatshirts and cut-offs. Abby stealing husbands, alcoholism, cheating, acting out, potlucks, self-discovery, healing, big dreams, cheery neighbors, worries about money, nervous breakdowns, home safety, ecology and so on. I never really liked how everybody had to be super rich. It wasn't relatable anymore but it was still wonderful. The cul-de-sac will always be part of my growing up. Thanks for this video.

another of my many favs was when abby was snooping in bens office on his computer and read a note he had written val...at the end he said he didn't know if he could ever accept that gary was the father of the twins...it shows abbys face in a close up on computer screen,,,she is steaming hot and worried at same time that she will lose gary and his fortune..and gary at the time don't even know he is the father himself..this is when one of the best storylines of the 14 seasons start with the twins..gary being the father,,,and them being stolen...brilliant writers..brilliant actors and just a brilliant show!

and the scene when val thinks gary is dead at the ranch in the ambulance and she is carrying his twins-her performance in that scene should have gotten her an emmy-absolutely took my breath away...the scene where gary talks to val just before her and bens wedding...he just asks her if she is happy-brilliant! I can think of many many others...never missed one show...please let me know when your top ten comes out and how I can see it!!!

For me when Abby buried Peter's body, then had to dig him up again was a soap classic. That decades later many night time dramas and daytime soaps still copy to this day.

was best show on tv imo...never missed one show...dallas was a close 2nd...imo garys death in season 5 should have made this top 10 list...Van Arks performance in that episode at the ranch and the ambulance with gary inside dead was astonishing..she was pregnant with his babies and he didn't know it...her acting blew me away!

Valene's first sighting of the babies and the return of them must be two of The Greatest Moments in any of the Big 4. But I would've included The Christening when The Fishers come to say goodbye to the twins. Get out those tissues. Great work SS!!!!!

My favorite three episodes were 1. Celebration. Where Ciji's body was seen floating in the ocean at the end. 2. Noises Everywhere. Laura's Goodbye Video. 3. The Perfect Crime. Jill Bennett tries to kill Val.

There were a few highlights such a Karen's drug problem, Karen and Abby's fight over Meg, Wolfbridge which still ranks as my #1 cliffhanger of the show, Alec Baldwin's performance as Joshua Rush and certainly Jill's attempted murder of Valene - my #2 favorite cliffhanger of the show. Constance McCashin being let go was a huge mistake. However, Noises Everywhere Parts I and II were the oddest, but most well acted and written episodes in the show's history. I loved Knots Landing. It was an amazing show.

I agree and disagree. Laura's death was one of the best episodes of the series and that wouldn't have happened if Constance had been let go. Plus, Laura's role was minimized in later seasons.

Constance McCashin was not happy about being dropped from the show.I guess it may it easier for Greg Summer to have an affair with Paige and Linda,two younger woman.I guess this is what the writers had in mind.I could be wrong. Then again,the bigger parts went to Joan,Donna,Michelle and Lisa Hartman. That left poor Miss.McCashin with hardly nothing to do on the show,so they killed her off the show.

Actually, IMO, Knots didn't hit its stride until the 5th season. It expanded away from the cul-de-sac and none of the original 4 couples were still together onscreen. Sid died, Richard left, Kenny and Ginger moved and Gary and Val split.

I loved the show in the beginning. Seeing Abby in shorts and a short-sleeve sweatshirt, Karen with messy hair, etc. I really liked that the show had "real" people. I know the show had to catch the 80's glitz to stick around but I loved the neighborhood vibe. Abby didn't need shoulder pads to ruin lives.

It’s pretty much impossible to compile a top 10 list of a series that had so many incredible episodes; however, the “Poor Val” 87-88 season finale/cliffhanger was one of the most riveting hours of television I’ve ever seen. The long scenes, the intensity, the writing and acting were all spectacular. Literal edge-of-your-seat viewing. Even 30+ years later I still remember where I was, what was happening in my life, etc., when that episode aired, and I’ll never forget.

The best nighttime soap opera. It’s hard to find a bad episode during seasons 3-10. Celebration should be at the top alongside that pilot and maybe the episode with breach of faith. I remember being mesmerized by the last five episodes of season 6. Hell the season 6 premiere was really good coming from a epic season 5 cliffhanger in negotiations.

I loved Lisa Hartman (Black) as Ciji, but bringing her back as Cathy was one of the dumbest things the show ever did. Hear me out; Abby finding a woman who looked just like Ciji, that was believable. Finding a woman who also sang, and sounded just like Ciji, that was stupid. The writers couldn't even give Cathy her own identity. She secretly loved to sing, so she started performing with a band at a club, then she adds Ciji's songs to her shows? Come on! I know viewer outrage over Ciji's death was tremendous, but the show could have rolled with the punches and carried on without bringing Lisa back. And the way they wrote Cathy out a few seasons later, that was a slap in the face to Lisa Hartman - in my opinion.

Fran .Schw I know what it feels like, it wasn´t released in Spain either, not even aired nationwide, only on local stations. Re the rest of the series, It seems it has to do with the copyrights of the songs they used (esp. those sung by Lisa Hartman). Anyway, if the first 2 seasons had sold well in US, they´d have released the rest, I´m sure. Let´s hope some cable channel streams it some day, or that another dvd company purchases the rights.

You can´t even imagine how easily they are removed by YT for "strange" reasons...It takes a lot of effort to do but it´s worthwhile whenever I see constructive criticizing. Someone help me - what episode was this? -- Late in the series where Karen meets an obnoxious wife or girlfriend of one of her sons. She can't stand her but then the girl inexplicably compliments Karen on raising him - or something like that. Pushy Karen annoyed me for most of the show but I can remember Michelle Lee's face softening at the act of kindness. It was a genuinely tender moment. That kind of interaction was where KL excelled.

If the character of Laura had to leave because of budget cuts, then why were new actors and characters developed to Laura's place. For example, the new characters that came along Frank, Pat, Paige, Anne, and Claudia how did CBS and Lorimar Productions pay these actors and actresses their salary. Laura was/is my favorite character on Knots Landing, it still does not make sense why was she let go due to budget cuts and yet Knots Landing brings in five new characters and plus get a salary, while the actress playing Laura can not even return to Knots, because they killed her off, which was avery dumb. After Laura passed on, I really in some way wanted accept the new characters who came on Knots Landing but in the end I just could not. God Bless - Jason
